Final Fantasy Dissidia (A fighter!)

Dungeons and Dragons Tactics Trailer (The game evidently has Multiplayer)

Castlevania DX trailer. (kinda meh, but it is Castlevania)

I found some PSP trailers at the official Playstation blog. I'll be using this thread to showcase PSP goodness that I come across in my travels.
First some Vids
Dungeon Maker:Hunting Ground Trailer.
Quote:

An original title developed specifically for the PSP® system, Dungeon Maker: Hunting Ground offers addictive game play with a simulation dungeon creation element and real-time battles hunting for monsters to collect items, gold, and to fulfill requirements to complete the various quests given by townspeople.

* Design and modify a customizable dungeon, floor-by-floor, using simple controls to quickly develop a deep and detailed dungeon.
* Strategically layout and improve your dungeon to maximize its attractiveness and lure in the most sought-after enemies to take their loot.
* Fight real-time battles wielding various melee and ranged weapons, casting magic spells, rendering special attacks, and summoning creatures to defeat the wide variety of monsters including undead creatures, orcs, and dragons.
* Enjoy the vast selection of building materials to customize your dungeon and complete quests to access the rarer items from the wide array of weapons, armors, and accessories to upgrade your warrior.
* Trade dungeons - Utilize network connectivity to trade dungeons with a friend. Show off your dungeon creation skills and explore a friend’s dungeon to see what kind of monsters and treasures lie inside.
Next a Jeanne D'Arc Trailer
Quote:
History Meets Fantasy

Step into a colorful world where history meets fantasy, taking part in a magical tale inspired by the life and times of the legendary Joan of Arc.

The story begins far in the past, when a great war was pursued by mankind against demonic armies attempting to enter the human world. Five brave heroes created armlets to restrain the demon gods.

Enter the 15th century, as France and England battle during the Hundred Years’ War. In a quest to turn back the rueful army, a young crusader named Jeanne is commanded by voices to use the power of the mysterious armlet that appears on her wrist to seal away the demon king and recover her homeland once and for all.

* Command up to 7 characters at a time and embark on a crusade in a 15th century fantasy setting of ogres, dragons and magical powers.
* Explore ransacked villages and battlefields with visuals and cinematics that bring the world to life.
* Tactics style action with unique team-based strategy of attacks and defenses.
* Developed by Level-5, creators of the renowned Dark Cloud series and the critically acclaimed RPG Rogue Galaxy™

A new survey hints at some interesting PSP possibilities
Quote:

* Side missions or unlockables for PS3 games on the PSP,
* Transferring media wirelessly to the PSP (not just what we've got now, we mean broadcast television and new levels for games),
* Using your PSP while playing the PS3 as additional weapon or utility (radar, 2nd controller, etc),
* Recording your gameplay for boasting abilities later on in life.

Metal Gear Ac!d 2
10 (!!) bucks at Bestbuy.

Features
* A completely new cel-shaded graphic engine, replacing the darker graphics from the first game.
* A new character, Venus, replaces Teliko, Snake's partner from the first Acid.
* A tutorial mode for beginners.
* Over 500 cards, more than twice the number of the original game, are available, including upgradeable cards.
* Weapons used by the characters are displayed graphically when they're equipped.
* A new mode entitled "Arena" allows players to battle boss characters from previous games such as Liquid Snake and Vamp using the Acid 2 card-battling system.
* Players can now pick up items such as weapons and card packs by simply running over them, instead of having to end movement on top of the item.
* The game comes with a PSP add-on called the SOLID EYE, which is a folding cardboard box with specialized lenses that fit over the PSP's screen, creating a stereoscopic image.
* The North American & European (Australian) versions include ten new cards not included in the Japanese release, six of which are based on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Name (Password), Solid Snake (snake), Otacon (otacon), Metal Gear Mk. II (mk2), GEKKO (gekko), Solid Eye (tobidacid) and No Smoking (smoking)) The remaining four are fan made cards (an alternate Naked Snake card from MGS3 (sonofsully), a Banana Skin (ronaldsiu), Possessed Arm (thespaniard) and Emma's Parrot (ginormousj)) which were selected in a Konami sponsored contest by four online publications (Game Informer, IGN, GameSpy, 1UP).
* Solid Eye Theater with videos of the "famous" Japanese women seen on posters and magazines throughout the Metal Gear series and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater cutscenes that utilize the Solid Eye attachment.
* Interconnectivity with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence for the PS2 allowing users to take photos, then transfer and view them in 3D with the Solid Eye on their PSP.
[Also has local wireless 2 player mode- OG]
Speaking of card games. Amazon has the Marvel Trading Card Game(reviews) using the VS. System(wikipedia) for 17.99.
Probably for fans of the genre only.
Tales of the World:Radiant Mythology [Battle cries could use some work]

Crush [Review]

I have thought about picking up a PSP. I am just not sure how much use I would put into it. Being able to go back and play the FF games on it makes it very tempting though!

I love being able to stream media from my PS3 to my PSP. It basically gives me a 350 GB Ipod where a wireless connection is available.

I bought one and returned it when I just couldn't find anything I was interested in, was sort of an impulse buy though.

That was last year, so maybe some good games have come out since then, but I haven't followed it at all.

I like the fact you can play most every playstation game on it. Plus I'm looking forward to the Final Fantasy Tactics game and Dracula X Chronicles (with castlevania:symphony of the night included) coming out this fall.

Also, the remake of Final Fantasy I and II (Final Fantasy Anniversary Edition I and II) look pretty nice. I've also heard SE might give the same treatment to more of the series (IV and VI like this would be godlike.)

Edit: The new God of War game for the PSP looks great as well.

That looks really nice, but I still can't believe that Sony went the 2D route and Nintendo went the 3D route; seems kind of counterintuitive on the FF remakes.

Yeah, the PSP FF remakes are godlike... wish they would compile them all on a non-handheld system.

Maybe this isn't the proper thread for this, but why doesn't anyone ever mention FF3 or 5? Were they just that horrible that they aren't worth playing or is there some other reason? I started with VII...I plan on getting 1 and 2 for PSP.

As for the subject of the thread...I'd have to say that I'm most looking forward to God of War. Other than those 3 games, there's not much that I'm looking forward to.

Has anyone else noticed that it's impossibly hard (moreso than other systems) to find new copies of older PSP games? Can't find Valkyrie Profile anywhere...

Modded PSP rocks, I have my entire PS1 collection mobile on a single 8gb memory stick, that alone is worth the price.

Once I started actually using mine for that purpose, I started finding games I actually liked for it and now have about 10 I've bought and 7 comming out I want.

It took awhile but I think its finally worth picking up.

Edit: Worth noting since I'm a minor Atlus/Gust/NIS fan, that they put out alot of PSP games that suit me, a more mainstream gamer might not find nearly as much to like.

3 is too new and its system is so old; 5 was very hit or miss depending on how hot and heavy you are for Final Fantasy games based around job systems; it also had zero story worth writing home about.

I am a PSP newb. I have a DS and love how with the M3 I can have a huge library of DS, SNES, and GBA games on one little cartridge, and take it with me on the go.

Lately though I have been thinking about buying a PSP. I dont have a ps3 so I cant do any of the connecting stuff. But Im wondering, can you mod these like you can with the DS? Can you "backup" psp games and movies and run them on the system off a memory card without having the actual disk? And can you play mpeg and avi movies on them? Thats one thing I wish I could do on my DS is download movies on my pc and watch them on the handheld. And does the PSP allow emulation of other systems like SNES and such?

I saw that there is a 4 GB hard drive that you can plug into the PSP, but what would the advantage/difference of this be over say a 4 GB SD card? And the other thing I was wondering is, do you have to have a certain model of PSP to be able to mod it, I remember hearing something about this once but want to make sure before I do go and buy one.

Anyways if anyone could fill me in on this it would be appreciated. Thanks

Theres emulators for just about everything on the PSP(including the PS1, thanks Sony!). Can play backup PSP games too.

You dont need to even do any kinda modding for movies and such for PSP, that comes outta the box.
