+64 Internets | Well, at the time of Lucas writing those scripts, he was making parallels to religion and it's belief system anyway. Honestly, I think the movies are due for a reboot. With Lucas having no input other than 'ok'. A lot of people hate fucking with old movies from their childhood, but I think we're at a good time to rehash the stories, change them just a bit to make it darker in some areas, light in others, and play up the powers of the Jedis. There are good stories that are after the IV V and VI, but we can't do it because everyone is too fuckin' old.

Are we so unoriginal that we must destroy classics as opposed to creating a new story? I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that the entire Star Wars universe is no longer going anywhere and needs to be dropped, directly after George Lucas is imprisoned beneath Paris wearing an Iron mask whose key is melted down to be made into the shiv they will stab him in the heart with after 20 excruciating years of torture. "Remake" is the single most vile word that exists in our world today.

| That's basically my position. Introduce some new characters and a brand new setting, and do a Star Wars series set in the distant past (KOTOR style) or the distant future (well beyond the conclusion of RoTJ). I think the Anakin/Vader/Luke eras have been exhausted at this point. All we're doing now is just retconning new characters into the days and months in between movie episodes, and it's getting a bit ridiculous. Even a "relaunch" of the original trilogy would just be retreading on old and worn-out ground. Frankly, IMO, Lucas should let Star Wars lie fallow for five or ten years, then release a new trilogy in a new setting without any specific tie-in to the existing stories. Sure, he'll be an old man in 10 years, but he's still got at least that many years left in him. It's understandable that he's been milking the Star Wars cash cow as much as possible, but sometimes you need to give the cow a hiatus to let it breathe a little bit. |

| Not that this is the piracy tech help forum, but there is a fixed crack available.

+20 Internets | So I'm trying the "demo" as I had planned on buying this for PC. But god damn I'm Glad I tried it first. It plays fine no problem there but the blatant consolitis bullshit with console to PC ports needs to end ffs. Complete shit menu system. No meaty in game settings at all to change other than volume control. To change key bindings or your res you have to do it out of game. Awesome quick time events that only display the default keys and not the keys I actual use. Took me several tries to kill a boss because I hadn't memorized what each default key did before I changed it. How long were they working on this PC port? This shit is just plain fucking lazy. Yah I'm bitter because I was looking forward to this heh.

| Glad I demo'd it too.. Story was grade A awesome, but everything else is just shit. I love how I'm the baddest motherfucker ever but a damn stormtrooper can Havok physics slide me 100 feet across the floor where I can essentially be stunlocked. No quick get up buttons? Shit that blocks every possible melee attack you can use? Frustrating ass gameplay. Glad I finished it quickly, the DLC missions were pretty cool too. But at least now I can free 30 GB from my HD and not feel ripped the fuck off.

The combos are weak at best and have no feel to them, games like DMC you felt like you had some weight to your attacks but these assholes just shrug off lightsaber attacks and continue on or just fall down and die. I find myself just two hit force throwing everyone into a laser shield or off the edge of whatever is the best way to do things. However if you aren't throwing objects into storm troopers like bowling balls into pins you aren't stylish enough to gain maximum XP. You really need that XP on the hardest setting to up your damage/defense or you are fucked. Lastly, quick time events are FUCKING POINTLESS if you just get to repeat them if you fuck up. Seriously why even have them if I can just endlessly repeat them until I win. If it wasn't for the story I would have uninstalled this game on the first mission as vader. Oh god why couldn't he run...I was just jumping everywhere to speed him up. | |
