I'm also sick as shit of this treatment of the userbases. There is overlap -- just like a lot of GC/XB owners had PS2s, so too will many 360/PS3 owners have Wiis.

The PS2 users spanned a large number of tastes, and so will the Wii. Even the 360's base is changing as it gains popularity.

P.S. I think you just proved you were a Nintendo fanboy, IMO.

I'm playing the 360 almost nonstop, fwiw.

The last console I played as much as I'm currently playing my 360 was the Super Nintendo.

And my Wii is indeed collecting dust. It's not even plugged in anymore.

And are you guys catching up on the last year of not having a X360 or have you been keeping up with releases month by month since it's release?

I'm basically catching up on not being able to play with it much since January because of school. The real reason I play it so much is because of Live. GoW/Crackdown + XBLA + Halo 3 beta.

Holy crap, this argument again?

I play my PS2 more than anything. Mainly because I have about 30 games to beat on it, where as I only own GoW and Viva Pinata(and a bunch of arcade games) on 360.

It's really pointless to point out numbers and trends to people who don't even play this shit, so I give up. I'll indulge in one more thing though:

Wrong. They're near equal. Sometimes the US is higher, sometimes Japan is higher. Dismissing the US sales makes you well... your retarded usual self.

And let's not forget Europe and "others" on the Western front.

So why not develop for Wii if the RPG bases are roughly equal? Ignoring costs of development, you get the entire RPG audience in Japan, plus arguably a huge size in NA (Wii is selling well here).

Is Viva Pinata any good? I like the look of it.

Do you have a 360? The demo of it was released a little while back.

It's a very good game, but I find that there's too many fucking menus, and I get overwhelmed too fast.

Yeah, it's fun. It's a bit of a micromanagement sim, so if that isn't your thing I wouldn't recommend it. However it looks really cool(particularly in HD) and has some funny shit in it.

Dozens of factors.

First off - publishing. For the time being think of those guys as pseudo first-party studios for MS and Sony. That basically leaves Square and Atlus + their 2D RPG crew.

The 2D RPG guys have no reason to move to the Wii. They can sell their stuff just fine on the PS2 and are continuing with it - they've *just* announced new titles starting up for brand new development on the PS2. This is well into the Wii hype - they don't see a reason to sell there.

Square? You know what they think.

Atlus? Well, we don't really know anything except that they're making a PS3 RPG. Good chance they're in bed with Sony due to them publishing all the 2D RPG guys on the PS2.

This doesn't really leave anyone except Namco-Bandai who has sold one of their studios off to Nintendo and put the rest on X360 duty.

So uh, who is left to start up big Wii RPGs besides Nintendo's own studios?

Didn't Atlus just find one of their best selling titles to date on the Wii?

Atlus has Trauma Center on the Wii - which despite being a good game, didn't sell very well.

I heard lots of reports that it's their best selling game. Granted, it's not an RPG (lol you play the role of a doctor!), but surely it'd give the boys some faith in the system.

My Wii is no longer collecting dust, I unhooked it and put it away in the closet. Maybe someday when this mythical list of amazing rpgs/games is released for it Ill consider using it again but for now I am going to just write it off as me being a lemming

Got caught up in everyone praising the system and went and got it only to find a few months later its a piece of shit. The current X360 list is superior in every way and the list for games being released within the next year is WAY superior. All opinion based obviously but I cant see a single game coming for Wii that will even be worth the effort of digging it out of the closet to hook it back up.

Only thing that is going to suck about the X360 over the next year is the fucking insane amount of money I am going to be pouring into it for new games. I have been into gamestop enough times this last month to preorder shit that I know the guys behind the counter on a first name basis
