Arguably, both the Wii and Xbox360 aren't at the no-brainer, worth-buying stage either. The Wii needs at least 1 more title, on top of SPM and TP. The Xbox360 is seriously suffering as far as variety goes. Their hit list is dominated by FPS's.

| Unfortunately, sales numbers like that reinforce the image the system gets: developers will continue to support the titles that sell, meaning we won't see Viva Pinatas as often... =( |

+5 Internets | orI do consider the Wii a must-buy, but hey, I'm a fanboy. ![]() I think it's interesting that most of the discussion here is directed towards sales numbers and market leading. Is that really what we're all aiming for.. to have our team that we picked for one reason or another to come out on top? You'd think in the end it would be best to be completely detached from any company and be happy that we're in a 3-system battle with a good variety of games coming out (although it seems the variety is between a X360/PS3 style game vs. a Wii-style game). I can't say I'm immune to it, personally - I want to see Nintendo succeed and I do want to see Sony take it up the ass a bit with a thny dildo for being so arrogant and making a system I absolutely wanted to buy cost way too much for me to afford. It's like Nintendo and Sega got are my divorced parents, my dad still comes around to sleep with mom every once in awhile but he's pretty much useless, Sony was dating mom for awhile but he turned into an asshole. Now Microsoft stepped in and married mom and I'm not warmed up to my new "dad" enough to start taking him seriously. |

I want Sony to be burnt BAD by their asshole decision to trojan a Blu-ray player into our homes, raising the standard price of entry to $600! If Sony won this generation, where would prices lie in the future? I want MS to fail as much as they can without MS deciding to leave the console space. I don't agree with the accessory Nazis they are, and their hardware is built out of rubber bands and gum. I don't want them to leave, because they've done wonderful things for the industry -- a great UI, wonderful (!!) online integration, and helping us move to HD gaming sooner than later. =)

| Flaccid Steel | There's Mario Party coming out at the end of the month, with Metroid Prime around August and Super Smash Bros around September. Then a few more good games until the end of the year (at least 5 or 6 from now to December). If the dates stay true its a good time to buy a Wii. |

With all consoles this generation being competitive the next generation should be orgasmic. No one should root for one single console to dominate.

I think I'm the kind of guy the Elite was aimed at. I also really appreciate they're going to have a digital download/HD viewing Xbox, and a gaming only Xbox standard for the majority of 2007. I think I'll wait for the HD DVD addon though; I'd be annoyed if a blueray/HDDVD solution followed close behind in time for the holidays. With how MS has placed these settop boxes, I think they've got some balls for taking on Sony and Apple at the same time. I also subscribe to the theory that the Wii and the Xbox/PS3 are different markets, especially as the downloads become more and more critical to sales stategy.
