Maybe it's a countdown for the opening of the web site? It's impossible to guess what marketing people have on their mind these days.

On the back of the manual for GoW2 says something about a PSP title, possibly could be that.

the psp one as far as i know is just a psp port of the original gow

IGN already confirmed it has nothing to do with a PSP version of GoW. Interesting though. Gives me something to do for a while.

The PS2 logo is interesting. Not really sure why it's there. Makes me think Sony is announcing GoW 3 for PS2. They had some interview with the developers saying it was staying true to it's origins or something along those lines. GoW 3 on PS2 makes more sense than PS3. Larger install base with PS2 and PS3 owners and the amount of systems it would sell wouldn't be worth it when you consider the installed user base you'd lose from NOT putting it on PS2.

I predict God of War 3 for PS2.

I'm sure you'd like to wish it was coming to the PS2 rather than the PS3, but even if the GoW devs wanted to, I doubt Sony would allow them to create GoW3 for anything other than the PS3.

Of course Sony wouldn't. They own the development house that makes it.

They need to start packing in gamepads with rumble with the PS3 now that they realize rumble isn't "last generation".
