Just avoid Ace Combat Zero and get 4. Zero is supposed to be a prequel to 5 but it sure wasn't much of one. I don't recall any of the same characters and only one of the same locations. The story being just a series of interviews didn't help either. It had multiple paths to reach the same ending but I wasn't really compelled to go through it again. Its not really a bad game but compared to 4 and 5, it's rather weak. If you want to play it, it's really only worth a rental.

I find that AC6 website translation hilarious for some reason.

Especially before the first series of pics, it lists them as: * The gulf city where the many high rise building stands close together

These shot have a good initial wow effect, but then you realize it's pretty low tech trickery (2D trees, many building still just mapped on the ground, etc).

Yeah, it's built the same way the PS2 games are. It does look quite a bit better than the PS2 games though.

IGN: Ace Combat Six Interview

Huge three-page interview. It's sounding more and more awesome.

Between this game and rock band I can totally see myself spending $300+... =(

Chalk this up as one of those games that simply needs as much horsepower as a system can give it. Looks beautiful.

So much for buying new tires. ><

Apologies for hijacking the thread, but I'm curious what Ace Combat fans think of a game like this? Video - Warhawk - Gamers Day 07 Taking Flight Gameplay HD

The Warhawk flying stuff looks pretty fun. I still think warhawk would have been better if it stuck to the orginal rather than some new ground and air downloadable multiplayer game thing its turned into.

The flying looks Ok, but it seems more like what you'd expect for a vehicle based FPS like Halo or Battlefield rather than concentrating on making the flying the main experience of the game.

New Ace Combat 6 images (with HUD) - NeoGAF

New pics have emerged -- there's a lot so I really don't feel like hotlinking them all. Images are beautiful, but I hope the game runs smoothly.

How deep is the sim aspect? Game looks awesome but I don't feel like crashing 100 landings until I get the hang of it.

There is absolutely NOTHING sim about the Ace Combat series.

There's no better representation of the "Flight Action" genre than Ace Combat - I'd go so far to say as it has defined the genre. I'm not sure the genre name even officially existed until Ace Combat came into being.

I have had an epiphany.

Every jet game should be required to have Highway to the Danger Zone and the Top Gun Anthem each play once at a crucial part in the game.
