| HDMI isn't that big a deal. Component is more than good enough, and you should be fine with coaxial unless you're watching stuff through the hd-dvd addon. About the hard drive -- I read the other day that there are some third party 'addons' that allow you to use your own hard drive with a 360 -- it just has to be formated in the same way as a normal 360 drive. Because of that, only a maximum of 20gb was attainable, but, this new hard drive should give us the ability to use our own 120gb drives. |

I'll get one when they drop to $400 which should be christmas time. I urge you all to do the same. MS won't be able to get away without a price drop for that long. They're already being scolded for this model (I don't think it'll sell at that price simply because now Sony can say you can pick up a blu-ray player for 20 dollars less). It's like Microsoft wants Sony to jump back in and try to steal sales from them so they have even more competition. I'd buy a $600 PS3 before I buy a 480 dollars 360. Also, $480 are you fucking kidding me? You fucking cockbites. You assume the american consumers are retards. The average consumer will see this as only 20 dollars LESS than a PS3. The only reason they didn't go 500 and believe me, they wanted to so they could fuck people even more, is because the low line PS3 is $500 and they wanted to say, hey atleast we're cheaper than Sony. They should of sold this model for $400. I know plenty of people who own 360s who would rather buy this one for the HDMI. At $480, it's not worth it. I'd buy a PS3 just to spite them because of it and I bet a lot of people will do the same. Thanks Microsoft, Sony needed a kickstart and you just gave them one. | |

+12 Internets | If they'd put a fucking wireless adapter on it stock it'd be a nice deal. As is I'll probably shell out since I've been waiting to get a 360 and I'll pay the extra $80 for the HDD and HDMI, but still..

+38 Internets | So if you don't have a router next to your TV (and really, who does?) the new 360 costs $20 less than the premium PS3? I guess some people want to play online, so I guess in the first year it's $50 more than the PS3? Not to mention even a $200 price difference over a console lifespan of 6 years ends up at an awesome $2.78/month. Xbox Live is $6/month. So much for bitching about high prices - just suck it up and realize that even a new graphic card costs more than either console and sure as hell doesn't last you 6 years. |

| Nah, a $480 X360 looks GOLDEN when there's a magazine right next to it showing FFXIII going for a multiplatform christmas release on the cover. Hell, a super-ultra-elite X360 that ships with DMC4, FF13, Halo3 this christmas would outsell PS3's at 600 bucks. In fact, if konami jumps ship too---which everyone from their designers to Konami shareholders are probably urging---you wouldn't be able to sell a PS3 at Wii prices. Since the 70's, Microsoft has built an empire by having a culture that doesn't fear failure but in fact embraces and utilizes it. Everything Microsoft is today was built on horrific market fiascos like Microsoft Bob and learning from it whilst wading through suspicious consumers, hostile press and crusading anti-trust governments. Sony just hasn't had to put up with any of that... they were still blithely trying to sell betamax (to broadcast industry) well into the 90's. It's no wonder most industry observers predict nothing less than a primal darwinian process that Sony would be lucky to survive. |

+1 Internets | I'm a bit confused. I dont own a 360. Why is this one so much better? Is it an extra $80 (as opposed to the $399 one out right now) for HDMI support and a 120g hd? Or is it just new with the HDMI thing? I'm confused because you said it comes with the 120gig hd, but then right under say its $200. And $200 for a 120g hd is retarted. Even fucking raptors give you more space for about the same price, and i'm pretty damn sure they arnt giving you a raptor. |

+15 Internets | It it has HDMI and a 120gb hdd vs. no hdmi and a 20gb hdd. The 120gb will also be available separately for use with older x360s for "under 200 dollars". And yes, they are not giving you a Raptor quality drive by any stretch of the imagination. |

+26 Internets | For one, with HDMI it will output HD-DVDs at 1080p and as someone who owns the HD player and a 1080p tv, that is incentive for me to want it(component will only do 720p/1080i with HD-DVDs). Not to mention, one less component cable going to my receiver/switch is that much less of a mess of wires behind my entertainment center. And 100 gigs more on the HD is definitely welcome. I hope they add the ability to copy your games to HD a la the original Xbox. Plus, it's black! /duck |

+1 Internets | This is retarded if this is true. They need to replace a SKU not create a third one. 3 seperate SKUs for one product is just madness. They need to release this new one at $399.99, bump the old 20gb version down to $299.99 and discontinue the Core system. $479.99 for the "good" version is insane and it only lessens the price difference advantage they have over the PS3. |
