He was the same guy who leaked the Euro PS3 price before E3, IIRC. This is scary stuff -- Sony has never had to doubt a FF's exclusivity, and now suddenly they have to discuss it with SE? Trouble.

We can all hope it's true. If it is true then it will be a matter of time Konami will follow suit. If they aren't making enough money with the PS3 then the next logical thing is to release the games on other systems. Time will tell.

I just want to play my first FF game and I'm sure as hell not shelling out 600 bucks to play it. Already got my Xbox 360, just hoping this will be the case.

There's still other RPGs that aren't as big named that will make me buy the system, but it'd be a bad thing if FF went to the X360.

Sony needs to keep some of its exclusives to have a chance at ending up not totally fucked out of all of this.

It'd be a horrible, horrible thing for gamers if Sony went down. You do *not* want the X360 to be the next PS2 - competition is an absolute must, especially this time around (and the Wii is too much of a different market/platform area imo).

Because the PS2 era was such an abysmal time for gamers around the world...

Sony dug this hole themselves with a $600 console that offers no tangible advantage over a $400 or even $250 console. Unless the PS3 Home thing really takes off, which it easily could given the masses love of The Sims, it's only natural for game developers to go where they can keep their business alive.

Yeah, I don't understand why you're so against a strong market leader Sean. I never had a PS2 and I never thought there was a problem with the way things were. I'm sure that those who actually had a PS2 didn't think there was a problem too. Why would it be a problem this generation?

No - it'd be a horrible, horrible thing for gamers if Sony was successful with the ps3 because it would mean a 600$/€ pricetag is ok which it is NOT.

Sony MUST tank this generation.

The ps3 is nothing but a trojan horse to get blue-ray to win the HD format war. The harder the blow, the harder they'll think again (not only sony, but other corporations) before trying to do this again.

Right now you are gonna pay between 600 and 900 american dollars just to secure sony's earnings in the future with blue ray royalties.
