Okay, Nintendo, you need to shut the hell up about the Wii for a while and let the hype die down until I am able to get my hands on one.

Saw this for the first time at lunch today. I really like the commercials Nintendo has been putting out for the Wii and it's games.

Anyone actually played this game? It looks cool. And yes, I agree that Nintendo's advertising has been pretty cool so far. We just need more good games like pronto!

Depending on how much weight you give reviews, apparently, its reviewing very mediocre:

And for comparison with the 360 version:

I really enjoyed golf on Wii sports so I am really interested on how this is. Is the gameplay similar at all? If not, how do they varry?

Reviews are ripping it for the graphics more than anything, saying it doesn't look good enough for Wii standards. Control for the most part seems to be on par with Wii Sports though (from what I've read).

I bought it this week and I can honestly say I hated it at first but that was mostly because im used to the simplicy of Wii Sport's golf swing.

You may also hate it at first, swinging is tricky; similar to Wii Sport's except tilting the remote left or right will make the ball slide left or right. You can also add spin to the ball in-flight by pressing the correct direction on the remote and shaking the thing. Aiming is done via a big circle and not a line, the ball is suposed to end up within the circle if you hit 100% force. Personally I think its way too easy to give a slide to the ball and I had to find a really awkward and obscure way to swing the ball in order to get it to go straight. On the other hand, someone I play with still hasnt figured it out.

Another annoying thing are the menus, especially custom character creation, hitting the wrong button or moving the remote too far up or down can result in having to start over and/or change pages.

There are a few bugs, sometimes the ball will only travel a portion of the intended distance. Another bug involves the swing going off on its on, effectively ruining your shot, being careful and only pressing B as your about to swing seems to help with that.

Multiplayer is fun, arcade modes had some spice to the game. Example: battle golf is like a skins game except the winner can either remove a club from the adversary's selection or get one of his back. Take away all their wedges and watch them cry.

Graphics may be a bit dated but its a port after all and if you play a Golf game for its graphics then I cant help you, sorry.

I'd say the game is worth buying, it only gets better once you get used to the controls. I even had a hole in one today.

My 2cp and first post.

If anyone has both this and Super Swing Golf (which I love), how are the two compared to each other?

Well - if you enjoy/can tolerate the art style of Super Swing Golf then it's a sure bet.

It has very solid gameplay mechanics and if you love unlocking shit it's an OCD gamer's dream.
