X360 - New Mass effect Screenshots

If you've really enjoyed the storyline of the game and want to know more, I can only recommend the novel that takes place before the events of the game, Mass Effect : Revelation. It revolves around young (then Lieutenant) Anderson in a military investigation during which he encounters Saren, and also explains quite a bit of background about the ME universe, and the discovery of Sovereign.

Additionnally, I found out after finishing this book that another book called Mass Effect : Ascension is planned for Summer 08, and downloadable content for Xbox Live is planned for March. It's supposed to be a brand new mission in Mass Effect that takes about 90 minutes to complete, and requires John Shepard to save a Terran colony from a collision with an asteroid deflected from its course by the mean Batarians (mankind's enemies in the novel, but absent from the game because they've left the Citadel in protestation over human presence).

Anyways, definately worth a read if you're into sci-fi, it's written by the same person who wrote the entire storyline of the game (and additionnally, the scenarios of Knights of the Old Republic, it's the official Bioware author basically..).

Also: The music in this game was awesome. Sorta Dr. Who-ish electronic feel.

I love the 360 version, but it's so restrictive and players can't do anything with it and that's a problem.

Hmm I haven't picked this up for my 360 yet. I wonder if the changes will make it better or just different.

If you have a good PC, I'm betting it will be a much better experience on the PC. No framerate drops, higher res textures, it says a better UI/inventory management as well.

It's nice on the 360, but mouse + keyboard > xbox360 controller.

This happens a lot, I want to select power B which is between powers A and C:

Try and select power B, but C gets selected
Move stick as little as possible to the left
It skips over power B and selects power A
Move stick as little as possible to the right
It skips over power B and selects power C
Rinse, repeat

You could even play the game fully in real time if you can map all your powers to the number keys for example. A 30 sec combat probably takes me over a minute due to having to select all my powers the slow way.

You'll probably see improved load times too due to the data being all hard drive based. I'm so fucking excited for this.

are they going to bone the 360 users by making exclusive content for the PC ala Gears of War?

I'm all for PC conversions and whatnot, and have as many player-made mods as you'd like, just don't give PC's exclusive "official" content plz :[

Fantastic, I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait until the fall.

Saw in the release that they mentioned revising the controls to allow for more "action oriented" gameplay. No idea what that means, since I haven't played the 360 version.

In the 360 version, the game would pause everytime you went to switch weapons or bring up your ability wheel and you can only map 1-power to "instant fire" without pausing. I imagine on the PC, you'll be able to hotkey basically everything so the "pause" will be mostly gone.

Just a guess.
