go to the system tab -> memory. While it's on your harddrive, hit "Y" for other options (or something). Then input X X LB RB X X and it'll throw up a confirmation window to do system maintenance.

I'm slogging through my insane play through, sadly. I'm going for the Kaidan/Tali achievements at the same time and let's just say Insane difficulty + those two party members as an operative spec'd infiltrator = not easy.
I used Ashley and Tali for this last run through. Tali just..dies. All the time. Most missions I'd just get her to AI hack something immediately, so at least she'd use it before she died.

Going to do insane next. I have only Ashley and Tali achievements. What do you think the best combo would be? I'm thinking Liara and Wrex. I have the decryption and electronics skills. So that + my sniper rifle + Wrex's combat and Liara's CC control I think I'll be set.

Would I have to do a lot of side missions to get from 55-60 or would just sticking to main missions do it?

if you're trying to get the ally achievements, you have to do a shit ton of side quests anyway.

True enough =x But I guess it's just when I land on a planet, whether I should complete the other little things on the planet for the extra xp or just do the mission and leave. The collect crap missions are only like 5 missions.

The requirement is 15 main quests and 45 side assignments with that person in your party.

I'm like three or so hours in taking my time. I spent a lot of time just playing around the citadel and did all the quests there before leaving the planet for the first time. I'm doing the Matriarch planet (Nov-something) and I've got a few questions as combat gets a little more complicated.

How do you guys strat using your powers? I have my allies on active use and I use my own as I need them but I havn't done this very much yet since I'm still learning combat after having 2-3 enemies at once only. (Kept dieing to the Matriarch and her goons after her long ass dialogue.)

Infiltrator sucks right now. Hardly ever use my sniper. I guess it gets better.

I just learned last night that the directional pad orders your squad mates.

When do you start getting better armor and stuff. I don't have nearly enough cash to buy anything good and I'm still stuck with level I-III light armor on all my toons.

Oh one more random thing. Does someone like Tali use grenades on her own or do I have to order her to do so?

Only you get grenades. And yeah, I had the same problem, Benezia kicked the everliving shit out of me continously on my infiltrator for awhile. If you really want to succeed early on (found it didn't matter nearly as much later because you become powerful enough in your own right) what you want to do is manually control each persons abilities. They tend to use them immediately. Let them control their own defensives but active abilities they rarely use right and can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Endgame you're pretty much one badass motherfucker so unless you're just used to it, you can let them do their own things.

I will try that cache thing tonight. It isn't that I was worried that this game would RROD by box, it's just that I don't know what to expect and the horror stories of people bricking 3-4 xbox's make me consider myself lucky to only be on my second one, so I don't want to chance it.

As for this game... well I am not a big RPG person so there is some basic stuff that I don't know how to do and didn't bother reading the manual. Things like controlling your guys, abilities, etc. Anyway I'm only an hour or so into the game, I am at the part with Fisk, he kicked my ass. This is fun, and isn't what I had typically come to think of in an RPG, and I'm really liking it.

Well, don't feel bad you're completely lost. The game is not newbie friendly at all.

Penny Arcade said it well: Penny Arcade! - Nitpicking: Mass Effect, Part Three

I don't know, I'm not really good at FPS games at all and I didn't have much of a problem with it. The only fight which I had to redo was the Matriarch 2 times and that was because I didn't check one corner for mobs to kill.

I at least found it somewhat refreshing that I actually died more than once an entire playthrough, which is a lot different than most RPGs. Its a genre which could stand to get some challenge in it.

So I'm transfering my Commando Infiltrator at 55 into Insane to go for the level 60 achievement. And so far..it's not hard at all =x Starting a new game on hardcore was pretty brutal and I imagine starting a new game on insane is also brutal. But bringing a character in...is kinda too easy. The only reason to find cover is because them shooting me fucks up my aim with my sniper rifle. But they can't kill me with permanent immunity =x

I haven't played the game, but a challenge through a rough introduction without any hand-holding is fine, IMO. Too many games hold your hand and tell you exactly what to do all the time. I like a few challenging games in my library. It sounds like it isn't ridiculous (like Lair), just that they expect you to figure things out for yourself. Fine with me.

How did you get perma-immunity? I tried insane (prior to my 360 RRoD'ing... t.t) and I was more annoyed than anything. Engineer skills don't seem to be nearly as strong as they were on hardcore and lower difficulties. I think I have near perma-marksmen though which is kinda nice (but KILLS my hand firing off each individual round).

(edit) nvm, saw it on the previous page. That's pretty cheap :P

I see people saying things like Commando Infiltrator or Operative Infiltrator. At what point do you choose these 'sub-classes'? Or have I already and I'm just too retarded to remember doing it?
