I don't mind the Mako itself, but I do mind random geometric spires in my way on almost every single planet you land on. Seriously, half the landmass on each planet is mountain, and more than half of that is 70-89 degree straight up triangle shit. Smooth out that crap, make the mako uh, less squirly, and I'm ok with leaving it in.

If not, just remove it.

I have to agree. The whole deal wouldn't be bad if every map wasn't just mountains. And not just any mountains, no, you see that point of interest on your map? it's in a valley. Surrounded by mountains. I had to recall to the normandy on one map because to get up out of the valley would have taken longer than loading...

AnandTech: Microsoft's Xbox 360 goes 65nm: Falcon Dissection and Power Consumption

A) Should be.
B) New SKUs are, new as in the last couple months, see link
C) They are, see link.

In short, you want a SKU with Forza/Marvel bundled, or a Halo 3 branded Xbox. Otherwise, see the link for how to identify if the box you have is new enough.

Thanks! That makes me feel good. Future shop has the forza/marvel bundles, this saves some worrying on my part.

Fuck the planet Casbin. Fuck it in its ass. Driving through the god damned Rockies to find a Geth base sure was "fun." Speaking of the MAKO: What dumb son of a bitch decided to make the thing have outlandishly strong shields and paper thin armor? Why does it matter, you ask? Because waiting five god damned minutes for the shields to recharge is god awful annoying, and the armor can only take like three paintballs worth of damage before you're dead.

Anyways...I went with Vanguard. I regretted it through most of the game, until I got Shock-Trooper - Improved Barrier basically translated into Immortality. At mid-levels I was able to have something like a 6s effective cooldown with Marksman (with Adrenaline available, if it really couldn't wait). Pistol + Marksman is basically a very accurate Assault Rifle, so that worked out well. I wasn't impressed with the shotgun, simply because the weapon switch time was too much to be effective. But it could be fun for those times you just knew the enemy was going to be in your face.

All the technical issues aside, I have to ask: Why does "Renegade" equal jackass? There's a slight, but some might say noticable, difference between "Doing whatever it takes to win" and "I make fun of cripples to their face." Most of the choices to get Renegade points were just that - Being a complete prick, or taking a very slightly easier path that just happens to inflict mass casualties.

A baby is on the ground
1) Give the baby to his mother 3 feet away.
2) Leave the baby where it is.
3) RAWR! I HATE BABIES! DIE DIE DIE!

Fuck parts of that were retarded.

Personally I liked the "Shut the fuck up and surrender or I slaughter your entire compound" options.

I played a Renegade who solved everything peacefully!

Yeah, intimidate is amazing fun. Vanguard however, is definitely imo the weakest all around class. Wrex makes a better combat/biotic class due to which talents he gets and when. As well as his use of assault rifles combined with immunity. Each combat on my game played out the same. We'd see red dots, I'd send Wrex to wreck them. Laugh as I get mad xp. Really wish I had gone with pure soldier the first time through though =/

Soldier + Barrier would be pretty sick imo. When you unlock the use ability X times achievement you can pick one of the ones you unlock to add to a new character.

Also you get 1 free charm and intimidate point every play through - so if you played through 12 times on a new char and never put points into charm/intimidate you'd max them out and free up a shitload of points to put into other things.

Those were the fun parts of being a Renegade. But a large part of it boiled down to "I like to be mean even when it gains me no advantage", which made me wonder why they didn't just label them good/evil and be done with it.

I donno about the Vanguard being the weakest class out there. I actually stopped playing that character for a little bit before I got Shock-Trooper because I desperately wanted an Assault Rifle. I wasn't impressed, and went back after a few hours of play. In the end, the ability to drop Barrier + Shield Boost + Marksman allowed me to actually play like the Vanguard is described - rushing headlong into the face of death, guns blazing. Push actually had some limited use in clearing enemy cover, and even L1 Warp is a great damage resistance debuff.

I'm not sure I'll ever have the patience for it, but I'd love to get the Assault Rifle Expert achievement and play as a Vanguard with AR's.

I'm an idiot - I think I'll just jump in tonight, use Barrier a ton, the play a Soldier. Weaker Barrier than a Van, sure, but yay for Damage Immunity or whatever.

For the achievements, does the character matter? Like can I use barrier 30 times on one char and then the rest on a second char? or does it have to be on one character?

On one character as far as I know, but it's pretty easy to do. And with Barrier you can just sit there and spam it. The others you have to use on actual enemies.

Just hit level 59 on Hardcore with every side quest available except the one after the 4 Geth bases and I haven't done Virmire yet.

Definitely not hitting 60 on this playthrough - need 198k more experience to hit it. Jump from 59 to 60 is 662k exp to 862k exp.

So I guess I'll pick it up on Insane and get the Kaidan/Tali squad achievements since I'll have to basically do a shitload of sidequests to hit that anyways.

Sadly I f'd up and only got one Ally achievement on my first play through. Going to go for the Liara achievement on my super built char with maxed Charm/Intimidate done from playthroughs and no points in it.

I don't get the Ally achievements. My first playthrough I used Liara for every mission after I got her. I only did 1 sidequest before going to Artemis Tau and rescuing her. Then I used her exclusively. And I didn't get it.

Well I didn't mean just barrier, just was an example. I was asking because I didn't get it on my main playthrough, so if I restart with the same character, would it still keep racking up or start over. If it starts over that's kinda gay =x

And playing through 12 times to max out everything, I really highly doubt they'll allow you to bring your full character in to the next game. I'd imagine they'd bring in your character choices (stuff like renegade, choices at the end of the game), maybe even your character, but even that will probably be subject to change (the engine is not going to be the exact same in game 2). Chances are a lot of skills are going to change so to have them just continue in would be retarded.

Decembers a slow month and you can plow through the main game in a couple hours if you're really determined. It's more a "nothing better to do" project that I'm gonna fuck around with after I get the Biotic usage achievements on my future lesbian, Silvia Shepard.

For the Ally achievements you have to have them through 75% of the game, including all the side quests. How much did you do sidequest wise?
