Wiimote battery life?

So I got my Wii about 8 days ago. Put in about 30 hours of combined Zelda and Wii Sports, and the batteries that came with it just died.

Is that normal battery life for this thing, or just some crappy batteries?

That's about normal. I've been considering getting some rechargeable batteries and a 15-minute charger, but I'm not sure how long those will last before I have to go out and buy replacements.

i personally havent tried them out, but ive seen a couple versions of direct rechargeable batteries w/ stand at my old work (bestbuy T_T) for 30 bucks canadian heh. two pack so its not too bad.

I dont personally play my wii anymore.. its sat in my living room for the past 2 months heh so i havent bothered trying em out.

edit: basically the same idea as the quick charge kit for the 360. to clear it up heh

This works great, I picked up two packs and use them for my 360 & wii controllers. The Uniross set last about 25hours in the Wii, and with a 15m charge time, it doesn't even bother me if they run out during a playing session. Just make a cup of tea while waiting!

Charging is a waste time imo, unless you have no job. Full powered NiMH's don't pack as much charge as alkalines do, and NiMH lose charge over time, and/or cold weather.

I bought one of those 24 AA battery Energizer packs at Target for like $10. No recharging headaches, no worries about lost charge, and I change batteries less often. To me, NiMH aren't worth it.

Rayovac has new Hybrid rechargeable batteries that hold a charge over time. I use those and Energizer rechargeable that I bought at Sam's Club. A charger, and 8 AA and 4 AAA's for $25.The Rayovac are at Walmart.

I bought a 4-pack of those Energizer Lithium batteries, they're a lot lighter than Alkaline batteries, I've gone through 30-40 hours on them and still at a full charge. I'd recommend it.

The best part of em is that the controller is significantly lighter with the lithium batteries.

did you not read the part where you shouldn't use lithium batteries with it?
