| real Myst I know this game came out awhile ago, but while browsing gametap I noticed. Being an old fan of Myst (meaning I played it when it first came out when I was little, played a few times then never again once the sequals came out), and I'm wondering if real Myst would be a good nostalgia run? Heared it's even got a new age, which sounds fun. Just curious if its fun/plays well/ controlls et al. |

| Yup, Bellingham ![]() Anyway, for anyone interested (not many obviously), if you liked Myst then this game really is fun. After working out some technical glitches, this has to be one of the most engrossing games ive played in a long time. And it's been so long that I've forgotten all the puzzles too. It's a real nice change of pace from the normally WoW grind. |

| Played it and defeated it. I enjoyed it, mostly since the original Myst (from Gametap) wouldn't run on my computer. Wish they all gave you the ability to move freely, less pixel searching I think. I started messing around with Riven but started getting a headache so I backed off. BTW: The piano in the rocket, one of the books in the library tell you what keys to press. Then you set the machine on the other side to the same notes. Also tried messing with URU Live but have no clue what to do in that. |

| I tried the Uru demo like 2 years ago, when that was newish, and it was horrendous. Never liked Myst, mostly because I was like 9 at the time and couldn't fucking figure out the first island.

+3 Internets | I used to play Myst all the time when I was younger. I spent so much time on it and never beat it. My cousins had the game but also had a strategy guide that I borrowed one day. Turns out you can beat the game on first island by finding several white pages hidden around. Can beat the game within 5 minutes of starting a new game. Not that anyone really cares. This thread just brought back some memories. |

| The system I used was this: Count the actual keys (for example, the 1st note is the 10th 'key'. Then on the other side raise the 1st slider up 10 times, counting each level as one). Once you get that system down, it's easy. |
