Doh! I feel a tad stupid! I was waiting for the mouse over to give me another option instead of Activate bomb.
Thanks for that.

The biggest issue I've had with the game is that it set me up for 'very high' by default, but the draw-in on npcs was set to the minimum. I couldn't figure out why it seemed like every goddamn mob I came across had a cloaking device.

Other than that, it just likes to crash every time I exit the game instead of shutting down gracefully. Oblivion did the same thing for a lot of people so I can't say I'm surprised it happens in FO3 too.

Well, it's not so bad doing it the way you did. I was impatient and used skill points instead of going out to the elementary school and picking up a helmet with +5 explosives on it first. Not that that really matters either, as I'm sure I'll eventually be swimming in points and get around to raising explosives up fairly high anyway.

I dont think this needs to be in spoilers, but when you beat the main story line, you cant keep going, the credits start rolling. So be aware if you've gotten any bobbleheads/items that you want to keep when you revert to an old game save after the game ends. Thats actually something I liked about Fable 2, you could keep playing the game after the MQ ended.
Yeah I know about the difficulty, I haven't played with it yet.

Keep in mind that the last thing I did last night was

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
grab the lincoln repeater gun then blow the shit out of the capitol building, then went to bed. Before that the game was still okay challenge wise as long as the MOBs were far away, because I had the super-shotgun. Before I got the super-shotgun the game was at a good level. Next time I play I'll probably switch it to hard.

How does the harder difficulty feel so far? How far have you gotten on hard-mode? The difficulty slider in Oblivion was intense. To the far left you one shot anything, and to the far right everything one shot you.

So whats with these skill books? 24/25 +1 of each skill.. so with bobbleheads AND books we would only need to raise our skills to 64/65 to max them out?

So far, its not so bad. I have max sneak, max luck, my shotgun, those bonus to crits, bonus crit damage, and that "Mysterious stranger" perks. Makes dungeon crawls a challenge though when there are multiple mobs. But nothing a few grenade line of sight pulls cant overcome.

I'm so glad this game is living up to my hopes. It runs pretty good on my 'ok' laptop. I can't wait to get on my desktop and crank up the settings. Haven't had any crashing issues thus far, but only about 4 hours played.

Really love it so far. I'm playing a Pistol-Wielding Geek (Low STR, Heavy AGI, INT, CHA).

It crashes quite a bit for me (30-45m), changing settings doesn't seem to help. But other than that, having a blast. The radio stations are a great addition. Hearing Malcolm McDowell brought a smile, and the immersion is really well done. Love the VATS too.

Well, back to the Wasteland...

Less than that if you take the Comprehension perk that gives you two skill points for each book you read. I'm on yet another play through focussing on that strategy for raising my skills.

As far as the crashing upon exit, I had that as well. One thing thats seemed to work for me so far is to exit to the main menu, then exit out instead of just quitting to desktop.

It just seems kind of cheap is all.. can pretty much max out every skill in the game.

I got a kick out of the voice actor imitating Carl Sagan in the planetarium.

What is hidden in a safe behind Bible quote in Dad's office ? I've made a char with 10 Per, 10 Luck and tagged lockpick, but this only gave me 42 skill.

Rolling back the drivers fixed the freezing for me. Am I using the BB gun wrong or is it just completely worthless? :P
