+7 Internets | XBox 360 Hardware Failure I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. Last week I go to turn on my 360 and three of the four lights around the power button are blinking red. I contacted Microsoft and after following their instructions to no avail, I have to send it into them to fix it. I was just curious if anyone else had this problem. I am going to take it into Best Buy since I got the replacement plan so I don't have to wait for the new box to get sent to me. |

| Yea, the dreaded three red lights. Had this happen to me and had to send back my 360 for repairs at my cost. I guess they were repairing for free any 360s manufactured before 2006. My manufacture date was 1/16/2006 leaving me shit out of luck though. Took a few weeks and I got it back, now 3 months later I'm having all sorts of trouble with games freezing. Literally every game i've played in the last month has frozen on me at least once. Call of Duty 3 I can't even play because it freezes on every single mission. I called Xbox Support and they are suggesting I send it back in for additional repairs. It really bugs me because I really enjoy the system, but all these little technical problems are starting to add up. I guess I'm one of the unlucky ones as it seems like most people don't have these issues. |

| you bet, happened on my first 360 and when I shipped it to them they sent a new one overnight. Might have been refurbed but who cares as its now working perfectly for a good bit now. (naturally it will break now that I said this) |

+7 Internets | I am hoping I can just take it to Best Buy and utilize the replacement plan so I can get back to playing right away. It's going to be a bitch to get to where I was in GoW on insane mode. Bah. |

| I had that problem on my first gen 360. At first I could power it on for 10 min and let the red lights blink and then it would start start up if I tried restarting it. That didn't last too long and it started not working at all. This was about a month ago. I didn't extend my warranty with MS and they sent me a pre-paid shipping box and did the repair for free. My manufacture date was before 2006 (11-11-2005) Last edited by Hachima : 11-27-2006 at 01:14 PM. |

+7 Internets | Make sure you tell them you have a premium pack though. Out of all the people I know with a 360, only one had problems. He sent it back without the hard drive and they sent him back a brand new premium pack, HDD and all. |

| I actually work for the Geek Squad at Best Buy and oversee a lot of returns. What we typically do if the customer is concerned about it is allow them to remove their old HDD and return the new one with the old unit, unless of course the problem is with the HDD. |

+7 Internets | Will they ask me if I called Microsoft about the problem? I e-mailed and called Microsoft, I just don't feel like waiting for them to get my XBox360 and then wait to get shipped a new one. Also, should I ask if I can keep my old HDD and test it out or will they offer me that option? |
