+61 Internets | [PS3]Resistance: Fall of Man So just finished an 8 hour marathon gaming session playing in Co-op mode. Overall I felt it was okay. While it lacked the gritty visual appeal of Gears of War the scenery itself was okay. Visually it looked alot like Call of Duty2. The sound and music were solid at least. In GoW we had alot of cutting in and out especially when one player was using the chainblade or something. Weapons wise, in Gears you basically either used the Torque Bow or Chainsaw Gun. In FoM you'll be using each of your 11 different weapon choices fairly often. And unlike many other games, grenades are plentiful and powerful so you'll be chucking those like candy which I really like. My brother and I were playing it in co-op mode and we kinda cheesed some parts as well. If you use the Sniper Rifle you can activate basically 'bullet' time. The thing is, if one player activates bullet time, the other player gets the benefits as well no matter what weapon you're using. Makes taking out some of the super fast wall-jumping critters easy mode. I will say though that the Auger is a fun gun. It allows you to form barriers that only auger shots can pass through and fires energy shots that go through any barrier. What's a shame though is that it's relatively weak and the lack of a x-ray vision style when you use the zoom function kinda defeats the purpose of being able to fire through walls. Not nearly as gory as GoW either which made me a sad panda. It is short, but what console FPS isn't? About 8 hours. By comparison we solved GoW in 10 and Halo2 in about 6. There was very little story development and the obvious tie-in to a sequel. The stages are linear, the mini-bosses fairly easy for the most part. I do very much suggest playing with a friend though as it makes the vehicle parts much more fun. So, as far as console FPS's go I give it about a 7/10 overall. Nothing made the game special and I doubt I'd even pick it up if it weren't one of the only games with the PS3 right now. It's also no secret that I hate console FPS's so I'll spare you the super low rating I'd give it as a game itself. |

| I'm having more fun with this game online and offline than I did with Halo 2. Online's been a breeze, actually I prefer online on Resistance compared to any Xbox Live came I've played and I didn't have to pay a dime to get online. Oh and breach mode really rocks. |
