More PS3 coming next week

Funny how Microsoft said the same thing and then no more showed up until february. As far as I've heard, stores are expecting more Wii's every week until christmas and no PS3s until Feb-March.

Yeah more PS3s are coming. Of course.

What's notable is the blatant lie that they're expecting that many in NA by the end of the year. They've lied on shipment numbers what, 3 or 4 times now? I don't trust that count at all.

This; we're still filling preorders at work (we surprisingly managed to fill half of them), and trying to sell people off on settling for the 20 gig hard drive version instead of the 60. The only count I've heard time and time again is something like 200,000-400,000 making their way to U.S. shores.

My friend got 2 of them beause he camped out two days in line with his brother. He was going to get a 3rd but Walmart couldn't fill the order so he got an IOU. In less than a week Walmart called and said a new shipment was in.

He asked them about the shipments and they said they would be getting a weekly shipment of them up until Christmas.

Who knows....if they are doing this to keep the hype up on their systems then ....fuck them.

Chances are mainly hardcore PS3 fans will get the first batch of units . Who knows if it is a motive but if the system is buggy and very limited numbers are released chances the hardcore fans will be less likely to complain about the system. Then once the system is readily available more problems are fixed and the general public are happier with the system when they get it.

I think the main problem is effectively producing the blue laser diode though.

They said they were flying in systems instead of transporting them by ship. That'd explain the weekly reinforcement. At this point they could drop 200k on the market today and they'd still sell out, so I doubt this is intentional.
