People are sheep. They see or hear one person going on about camping for it and then like a virus it spreads and now you have thousands and thousands of idiots spending days to attain it a whole month or two before most will.

I had a Japanese PS2 with 4 games that I ebayed for $1200 about 4 months before the USA PS2 came out. Its silly what people will shell out for these things, but when you have millions, whats a paltry $5000 to make your kid happy?

You people need to look at the bids and realize this is funnier than it is sad. All of these PS3 auctions are just getting fucked by people making a troll account and jacking the price.

Actually, its not that funny either. But anyway, it'll be much harder to do starting today now that anyone can sell a PS3, not just people with +50 feedback.

Anyone seen all these Japanese PS3's going for basically retail? I'm reading about a few bundles that were going for less than American retail. I did some research and I'm finding them at $900-$1000 now, but that's still badass compared to Ebay. Not that I'd pay that, but still.

You have to realize that it's not about the system as much as it's about the games. With the kind of dominance PS3 has over Xbox360 in Japan, Japanese game companies will follow and the end result is that 50%+ of the console market will stick with Sony regardless of what MS does.

Wii is our only hope.

You're probably right, but lets not pass judgement until early next year. Blue Dragon may be enough to turn things around for the better in Japan. I don't think its going to take over the PS3s popularity, but it might start doing a lot better than the first Xbox did. A lot of stores are reporting sell-outs of the Blue Dragon Core Pack Xbox 360 (no idea how much they are getting) and Blue Dragon is currently Number 2 in the most anticipated charts in the biggest Japanese gaming magazing: Famitsu.

Its actually only slightly behind Final Fantasy XIII which is pretty unbelievable for Japan. The titles below it consist of huge games like Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess etc... Lost Odyssey which is a year or more away is already at number 11 as well.

The thing is Microsoft really got their shit together for the holidays in Japan whereas Sony has a crappy lineup and no systems available. The 360 is in a prime spot to grab a ton of sales in Japan this holiday season for people who aren't satisfied with just a Wii.

I doubt its going to change the outcome of this generation, but it will probably help the 360 get a lot more support from Japanese developers.
