Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

By all accounts this is one of the best video games ever made. It's aggregate score on gamerankings.com is 98%. I was initially pretty hesitant about getting a Wii (Virtual Boy, N 64 anyone?) but it looks like Nintendo may have finally pulled it's head out of it's ass and made a non portable console worth owning. Does anyone actually own (or will own on Friday) a copy of this game?

I expect it to kick at least as much ass as Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past. Hopefully it will let us forget the mess that was Windwaker (sorry to those who like the game). I plan on picking up a used Gamecube and ordering this game online so I can play with a normal controller. Too bad it won't have fishing or the shader effects in the Wii version.

I look forward to seeing the reviews this game gets from "real" video game sites.

Wasn't that excited about it until the reviews are constant 100 after 100. Zelda always gets a few points higher than it probably should on reviews, but I can't ignore the critics this time

Check out the kiosks in the malls that have it. The game is fucking amazing. It probably pushes all of the Wii's power (as little as it may be) and it looks good.

Also, it's the only game street dated along with the system and controllers so no one can have it yet for retail to sell. Wal Mart had like, 120 copies of it though. Disguisting.

In more saddening news, it seems less and less EB/GS are doing midnight luanches for security purposes. So I have to wait until 11 am sunday morning, despite me having rayman, trauma center, dragon ball z budokai tenkaichi, and red steel in my possesion.

Actually, it doesn't push all of the Wii's power by any means considering they didn't upgrade the graphics for the Wii version. It looks exactly the same as the Gamecube one.

This is correct. The new Zelda is just a Gamecube port. It goes to show you what can still be done on that system. In retrospect, the Gamecube was the system Id call my favorite followed by the Xbox. I hate the Playstation 2.

pfft, and you people call me a fanboy! That's actually a good point though Warrik. Technically it is pushing the gamecubes limit as the Wii does have a bit more under the hood. I seriously enjoyed the demo though. My only gripe was that I had trouble controlling the bow and arrow, but that's mainly because the sensor bar was at the bottom of the TV and I'm about 6'1-6'2. The other kid who was tall had the same problem. Meanwhile, my 5'10 friend had no issues at all. Just goes to show that a few inches does make a huge difference when playing a game like that.

The reviews coming in for Zelda are amazing though. Zelda is absolutely slaughtering anything on gamerankings right now with GOW being the only thing close and when you consider how many reviews are in for GOW, it may not even be that close in the end. I think the game that will shock most who didn't get a shot to try it is wii sports. I assumed it to be a toss away until I got my hands on it. Then boxed for about 30 minutes with my friends. Wii sports is a great party game with tennis and bowling and incredibly fun for boxing (also a workout depending on how you play it).

Arrrrrrrrr that's not 100% correct.

While for the most part it's the same, the Wii does 16:9 in 480p (the GC only does 4:3) and I believeeee that the Wii has a few extra shaders option things going on that the GC version does not.

grats. I already said it had more under the hood than the GC. Thus the term "suped up GC". Yeah it has extra shaders and widescreen is only some games not all. Zelda of course is wide screen (it was performing in widescreen at the kiosks). Wii sports doesn't and I don't believe ExciteTruck does either.

my bad. I thought you meant the system as a whole. Definitely gotta go to GS tonight after hours for some more asswhoopings in the DBZ department. I can't stress how awesome that game is. We just had an absolute blast playing until the wii (no pun intended..ok well, I lied) hours of the morning. I'm kind of worried that I won't be able to get that far into zelda because we'll be too busy playing party games like monkey ball, wii sports, DBZ, rayman, etc. Hopefully I'll be able to crack into it a little with my crazy work schedule.
