Well, apparently camping 11 days ahead of time in front of Best Buy is out.

Although they did give me a good idea.. hire a bum to stand in line for you.

Hell, give them a bottle cheap wine and they're set.

Yeah, that was my thought also.

4 DAYS?! FFS... management had to have thought about this when they saw them whip out tents and marshmellows on the first night.

But they let them camp 4 days into it and then give them the bob barker shove "Oh I'm sorry Timmy, we are ok with you spending 4 days out here, but past that, well that just looks tacky!"

Its because BBY internal Just got a message down the chain from VP regional sales that MAX wait time that they will allow is 1 day prior to release.

Jesus, I guess it's some kitschy geek thing to do (thankfully I never got into it) but you're better off just pouncing on the first Ebayed PS3 if you're gonna sit in line for four days. The only way that would save you any money is if your time is worth NOTHING. Even at minimum wage thats almost an extra (96*7.25) 700 bucks added to the cost of an already whopping 600 dollar machine, if you're not a mouthbreathing burgerflipper you'd win out even by getting the worst EBay gouging imaginable.

Most people go for the atmosphere rather than the payoff, oddly enough. My old roomie freshman year used to crash major hardware launch queues just because it's a great way to meet like-minded geeks and play CCGs or whatever while breaking out the vodka. It' pretty enjoyable as long as you avoid kiddie-slanted joints.

To use a more FoH-friendly example, I know I had far more fun cracking Bush jokes in the Irvine Frys WoW launch lineup than I did playing the thing a couple hours before anyone else.

Sony sucks. Atleast their first gen releases do. I have been through 2 PS1s and 2 PS2s. A friend went through 3 PS1s and 2 PS2s and his current PS2 is pretty much dead.

I have owned all the nintendo consoles all first gen releases and they never ever died. Shit my SNES Still works and I didnt even take care of it after it wasn't in use.

Personally I haven't even thought about buying a PS3 anytime soon purely based on that. I dont feel like spending another 600 or whatever the price will be in 2 years to replace it.
