The only technical limitation I've heard about so far was that the PS3 only does 1080p60 rather than 1080p24, which could possibly cause the same sort of motion artifacts you get with 1080i and defeat the purpose of having 1080p in the first place. Nothing about a lack of 720p support at all, which is why I assumed it was yet another person confused about the '720p becomes 480p rather than 1080i on older HDTVs' thing.

This is an annoyance for me, as the scaler on my projector isn't the best in the world. 720p images look considerably better than 1080i. Hopefully this problem can be solved through firmware patches.

That's actually fucking 10 percent of the PS3s that were purchased and that doesn't even count the ones that fucking sold already!!!!!! When you look at it with all the auction sites that are out there, I bet it'll be like 30% of initial PS3 launch sales went to the secondary market.

I say 10 percent because I believe sony released about 200-250k systems to the U.S., not their 400k.

I find it hilarious that a fuckload of systems are now going for sub 1k simply because theres over 35,000 auctions up right now. I fucking love it.

Was 200k systems, an estimated 88k got bought to be resold. eBay isn't the only place they get auctioned after all.
