best buy is saying late this week early next week next shipment for wii's

target is saying...before christmas.

i haven't bought the system yet, but i have bought zelda, trauma ctr, and rampage....(rampage was 30 bucks- who doesn't want to be "godzilla" destroyign a town by punching and swinging the wiimote)

My city doesn't have a Best Buy, Circuit City doesn't pick up their phone, and no other store I've called has any idea when they're getting more.

Yeah, Im getting pretty much the same response as I call around.

Also, has anyone played the Rayman game? It looks pretty fun, but thats only from little Screens and such.

Was reading on the Penny Arcade forums that a lot of people are liking it a lot... better than Monkey Ball even. Not tried it yet, but probably will rent it if my friends stop being cheap asses and buy controllers.

So if I really wanted I could pick up a Wii still. Thing is I don't own a TV. My Dell monitor accepts Composite and S-video though. Minus the fact I'd have to buy an extra cable, does anyone know how those two look? And would it be a square picture or does it utilize the wide-screen properly? Or, worst thing possible, "stretch" it to fit? Not that I mind using composite for free or anything, just wondering the difference if there is an S-video cord. Might have to buy a TV soon...

Best Buy is rumored to have gotten their 2nd shippment in already. Stores haven't or won't put them out yet til friday tho. Something to do with advertising and minimum requirement for the ads.

I was really surprised they were sold out so fast on launch day. I knew people were gonna buy them up but figured there should still be some in stock. Stores here got upwards of 200 each. I went later in the day (actually nitetime) and they were gone. I checked a bunch of stores, all gone. I was just kinda surprised that they were gone so fast. Oh well, no loss... I'm kinda busy this week anyways so I wasn't in the huge hype-buy-mode for it. I can wait fine.

I've put a few hours into Rayman and it's a lot of fun so far. It's not anything like previous Rayman platformer games. This one is a bunch of minigames, like those seen in Mario Party. The minigames so far are a lot of fun and pretty well made for minigames. Each one takes anywhere from around 20 seconds to a minute and a half (with some exceptions) and they're all pretty unique and hilarious. The downside is that I was expecting more of a party game and while it does have multiplayer mode, the majority of the games I've unlocked (you have to beat them in single player to play them in multiplayer) have each person take a turn playing the minigame and then the next player gets a turn, etc. Don't get me wrong here - there are definitely party style games with all four people playing at once, they're just not all like that, and with a minute or more wait time between getting your turn, the non-gamers get restless. Regardless, I'm still real happy with the purchase and it's a solid game and once I find out which games are party style, it'll be much better when others are over.

I would pretty much assume this from talking to people who worked at best buy during other system launches and talking to the people at Best Buy on the phone.

Both people I talked to at best buy said something to the effect of "We dont know when we will be getting more in, but when we do get them in, there will be a flyer the day before they go out"

Seeing as how best buy doesnt usually print flyers any random day, and with friday being a doorbuster day, I imagine they would do everything they can to have them on the floor Friday. Time to load up some movies and episodes of Heroes on my PSP and sit out thursday night if I see it in the flyer on thanksgiving I guess.
