| Don't click to attack. Pause, use tab to target an ennemy, then hit Q or T or whatever the default key for "most likely action" (ie: melee attack) is, and your problem is fixed.

| Unless you've found a foolproof way to get healers to actually heal, I'd say most ppl find their way to the intended pause-tab-pause gameplay. They shouldve just made combat turn-based. Realtime D20 combat helped torpedo DDO too; though in that case, there were many many other torpedoes in the water. |

| Despite the fact the game had more bugs than actual gameplay Temple of Elemental Evil was a great way a D&D game should be made. True turn based fights with real time exploration. Makes me wish the game would actually play for more than 10 minutes before it crashes (which makes me believe the developers did it on purpose to simulate the DM getting pissed and walking off to cool down). |

| Weird, I don't think ToEE ever crashed on me, at least not with patch 2 from Atari and the Co8 pack. Fantastic engine and rules implementation anyway... just too bad ToEE wasn't that great a module 20 years ago and, even worse, caused them to only make the game do 10 levels. |

| Hmm I'm getting a weird bug that kinda ruins it all for me. When doing the rituals of purification, after I've done the first 4 and I go through the song portal thereby ending up in West Harbor after the attack by the evilguy. Fair enough. Then I go into the swamp and into the house where theres another statue of purification, and as I enter it seems as if the start of a videosequence is about to go off, but it gets cut short and I'm standing there, unable to attack or talk to the Shadow Reaver + guards.. Anyone got any ideas as to how this can be fixed?

Or, like, buy the game and patch it to 1.02.

| Err.. It's patched to 1.02 though.I tried reloading it a few times, nothing seems to work, plus I usually just dick around with my own char, much more fun really. But thanks, I'll give it a try.

| They fixed a lot of the graphics issues. You can turn on both water effects now, and AA is available as an option. With optimizations, 2xAA is about the same framerate as no AA was before the patch. Shadows still take a major hit, bloom continues to look like ass, and they have yet to reactivate HDR (it was in a beta build last year according to several people). Pathing got a little better, but the Behaviors tab still has lots of flaws. NPCs will shut off combat casting as soon as you stop controlling them, drink potions and use abilities when told not to, etc. There's a hak for fixing the AI behaviors, haven't tried it with 1.03 though. Still needs a ton more patching though, they've barely scratched the surface of the rules bugs and omissions--not even things as trivial as making it so you can select the Practiced Spellcaster feat or attempt ranged touch sneak attacks, let alone adding in the other half of the warlock class that never got implemented at all. |
