| Gothic 3 ANybody else playing? It's visally amazing.... and buggy as fuck. Having fun, but also getting frustrated at having to load and redo to fix bugs. AI is horrible too, standing on rocks shooting bow into heads over and over ftw; well untill they fall thought the world, and you can't finish quests that involve killing the mob. |

| There is a big thread on the page 2 just so you know. I played it hardcore for a few days before just stopping. I think I realized how empty the actual world is even though it has a nice atmosphere on the surface. I fixed the "stun lock" bug (feature?) with some random guy's patch, but the combat is still super retarded. You can buy one of the best weapons in the game for dirt cheap near the beginning of the game and its just cheasy easy after that. Sure you might get raped by the occasional bore, but since I constantly saved it was no problem. What was up with the load times when saving and loading by the way? Its horrendous. The main thing I couldn't put up with was how you pretty much rendered a town useless after liberating it from the orcs. All of the named NPCs and merchants just vanish and are replaced by generic "Rebel Guard" NPC who won't even talk to you. You pretty much render a town useless by liberating it and you don't gain shit for doing so other than some loot to sell. I made the mistake of liberating too many towns my first time through the game and I became KoS to every orc in the world which pretty much screws you for advancing the main story. I guess they expect you to fully explore the world, do all the quests in the town while helping the orcs, and finally liberate each town and beat the game. The way the main quest is created is kind of lame in my opinion. |

The game is FULL of continuity errors in regards to questing and killing NPCs. Effects of killing NPCs and finishing quests just aren't there. You liberate all the cities, go back and talk to some NPCs, and they still talk about how the orcs need to be killed. It's just a lot of stuff like that...it's not cutting it for me. Easily the most disappointing game I can think of in quite some time. | |

| That review is burning the game for all of the wrong reasons. They have a point with the bugs, but they didn't even bring up the other bad parts of the game. If you can get past the bugs and you liked the previous Gothics then you will probably enjoy this one too. Other than some occasional memory leak problems the performance is actually decent. The graphics are pretty damn good as well. Sure some of the models stink, but overall the environments are really nice looking. The music is also fantastic. The gameplay is only mediocre however and some of the abilities flat out do nothing. If all of the bugs got cleaned up I think the game deserves at least a 6 or 7 score out of 10. Even in its current state a 2 is a little low. |

+5 Internets | I'm just liking review sites less and less. Eurogamer slammed the game for a lot of the same reason, but then turned around and gave it an 8/10... The vast majority of the review is saying what sucks about the game, and then you give it an 8?? Guess you gotta pay the bills... ![]() I've not played G3, but, unless the gameplay and story is stupid good, I would probably agree with the 2/10. Gothic 1 had a good story and was fun, but I wouldn't give it more than a 5/10 because of the very high number of bugs, horrible controls, and other issues the game has. |

| Oddly enough I haven't found many of the bugs. The game has the best depth of any Singleplayer RPG to date. The quest count puts oblivion to shame, and the quests are better done... not having the autodirections to every quest helps to. The world is a bit condenced but who wants vast areas of nothing anyway. |
