| Wii/PS3 - When will you get there? For those getting the tents and parkas out of the garage and ready to go: How long are you planning on waiting in line for your opening day purchase? I plan on getting to a not-very-well-known midnight release for the Wii on the 17th (Friday) right after work. That should just about guarantee me a system at midnight the next night (I hope). |

+17 Internets | I have mine and its warrenty pre-paid for. I'll show up at EBgames at 11:30 for their midnight opening (they're opening between 11-11:30 to let people in side the store so they won't be cold though) and will just pick mine up when the time is ready. Fuck waiting in line at Wal-Mart or some shit. Glad I waited a measily 20 minutes outside EB on pre-order day. |

| I'm waiting for the PS3 to see how it goes. I have friends who preordered them and will sell them on EBAY for a profit. I'm happy with my PS2 and 360 for now.

| I actually have been planning and saving up money since E3 to camp out and buy the Wii. I had no intention of ever pre-ordering since the last time I did that I decided to not pickup my pre order till after I got off work and they sold my pre-order saying they could only hold pre-orders for a few hours then they have to sell them. That and I've also had bad experiences pre-ordering and then they don't recieve enough in or someone "lose" a few copies/systems and then I have to wait 4+ weeks while every other store I walk in has shelfs full of them. Granted the Wii most likely won't have this problem the Hype engine is in about 5/8 swing right now and it will get more intense. I think people are severly underestimating just how fast it will sell out since Nintendo's planned launch date is right after PS3, ever person who wanted a PS3 will have $800+ burning in their pocket and another chance at a brand new hot of the shelf system in just 2 days more. At half the cost they would have payed for the PS3 to boot! Add in the fact that its on a Sat/Sun night so no school for those lil kids and mommy and daddy don't have to work so I am sure more of those people will be out camping the stores around midnight then would be at the Friday launch of the PS3. All that being said I have already scheduled that full week off from work and saved 600$ all blow towards the wii, games, controllerx2 Since I didn't bother getting a pre-order Ebgames,Gamestop, Toysrus are all out for me but I orginally planned to camp outside Fry's here in Indianapolis starting at 9pm and a Wal-mart is right around the corner and my SO will be sitting there with my credit card in case she gets one first at midnight ill run across the street and purchase it. In looking at how big the Hype could be I might camp out earlier even at say 7pm or 5pm.... -midnight release I would love to know what places are selling the Wii on friday night though that would be HUGE for me.... any hits? *PM me please * |

+22 Internets | Since I missed the Wii pre-order by one spot in line, I'll probably just stop by a store or two that morning. If I don't get one then, I'll just periodically check. Not too worried about it. For PS3, I probably won't get one until they are readily available(next year?). Again, not too worried as there aren't really any games I want right away. Plus I still have like 100 games to beat on my PS2. |

| I can dance if I want to | Got two PS3s and two Wiis already on preorder for a minimal amount of time spent, I'm set for the next 5+ yrs. (No, I'm not planning to flip any of them, I buy two of every console because unhooking them back and forth between my projector room and my gaming goom is a PITA) |

+3 Internets | Being the 2nd to last person in line for the Wii preorder I have to say I'm nervous that something is going to go awry and my system will "vanish", be it from a shipping issue, someone dropped the thing, or an employee ends up holding it for a buddy. If that were to happen I would probably pull a Taz and obliterate the store. Quote:

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/01/ni...nd-automobile/ that is absolutely refreshing. When you look at how Sony and MS cut shipments possibly to make it harder to get and make more people want it, Nintendo is trying to meet their demand. I still say get there early despite this great news because I honestly believe it's going to be huge. 6 to 7 AM is usually safe if you live in a large community. |
