The Wii release date thread is so long now that I don't give a shit about it - new thread time.

I got my pre-order today, got #8 out of 14 at my store. $$

Fucking god damn horseshit. I went to my local EB in West Lafayette (Purdue University) a little before 8 am, two hours before store opening.

There were already 20 people in line, many of which had been camping since the night before. Two people were there for the ride, making me the 19th in the queue.

First of all, the fucking manager wouldn't tell us how many they had gotten and made us fucking wait while his crew took down, individually, addresses and IDs from everyone ahead of me. The manager said they'd stop taking addresses when they hit their limit (thanks for making me late to class, prick). They stopped at person 17, two spots ahead of me.

Fucking shit. What a waste of a bitter cold morning.

For those interested the stores around my area got: 17 Wiis EB, 12 GS1, 12 GS2.

WHAT'S SERIOUSLY GAY is the fuckers in front of me couldn't even describe the fucking controller. "Uh, how do you hold the parts?" One of them got a preorder too. I hope he reads this thread and kills himself. Fucking shit. I chase the preorder for 8 months and get Jewed by some ignorant retards.

I kind of figured. I've heard nothing but dissapointment from people who tried to get a reserve simply because they underestimated the hype for it. It's been a long time since any system has had this much excitement (I'm not sure if any has so far). It really sucks that a lot of people I know that followed it for months got dicked out because they couldn't get there early enough.

Hah. Your story sounds like mine, minus the waiting in the cold part. I was behind some of the biggest retards I have ever seen. They were asking all kinds of retarded questions. To make matters worse, the chick who worked at the Gamestop was giving them all wrong answers too. She didn't know dick about the system/controllers.

Hopefully I'll find a system on launch day. If not, no big deal. I can wait.

I had to work today so I ended up sending my younger sister to gamestop at 10 to order mine. I ended up with the second to last one, so im pretty pumped. But for anyone who is a little more knowledgable than me, I had a few questions. 1. What type of cables does it come with(rca, component, etc)?

2. Is the wiimote/nunchuck deal wireless?(i know the remote and nunchuck connect with a wire but i meant from that to the actual console)

3. Is there a built in harddrive to save shit or am I gonna have to drop another 60 for one of those 1gb flash cards?(no sense in spending 40 for a 512 when for 20 bucks more you can double it)

Is there any point in getting one of those retro controllers? I was curious if every single game will have to use the remote/nunchuck combo, or if you can use the retro for some of the games if you wanted to.

Ive been following the wii for quite some time I just never really got down to the nitty gritty of everything. Its the only console i can afford with a wife and a newborn, so i was pretty much set on it from the beginning regardless.(FU sony for charging so damn much for a ps3)

I'm guessing it just comes with composite video cables(RCA).

Yes, the controllers are wireless.

I believe the system has 512 megs of flash ram for saved games, etc.

Retro controllers can be used for the oldschool emulated games, I guess. Not really sure on that.

The ebay crowd is undoing itself i think. Ebay people are flocking to new consoles like shit to jessie jackson. Ebay will be flooded with consoles- and the sheer availability will greatly reduce the profibility of such a venture.

I had to close it ASAP. I love my Wii, but I was so tempted...I'll just sell my ticket for $500 when I wait in line for PS3 with no intentions of buying it!

) All sold out. I was really hoping that they wouldn't have a lot of traffic since it's a PITA to get to Pacific Place on a Friday Morning unless you live in the city.

Edit: I'm hoping/guessing that with the increase in initial shipping numbers there won't be as much of a problem getting a hold of one on release day.

Guess I got lucky, only got to GS 15 minutes before 10am and there were only 6 people in front of me. Whats funny was a guy that was 8th in line didn't even come for the system he just wanted to get some store credit by turning in some games so he had to wait. Bad timing like whoa.

Got to my local gamestop at 9:30, 9th in line.

One of my friend showed up 15 minutes later and was 17th in line. He ended up with the next to last system as our store apparently had 18 allocated to it.

About 8 people left without getting a preorder in who where there in line before they opened.
