| PSP game recommendations? Couldn't find any threads that wouldn't be massive necroposting, so here goes: Anyone have any game recommendations for PSP? I know I know, DS uber alles, etc etc etc. The game library, after I stood and stared at it for a while, did not appeal to me at all. I don't have any interest in Super Mario And His Super Friends Doing Something Super Cute 4 or Weird Thing The Japanese Made Into A Game Part 3. Games I have, already: MLB '06 The Show (I'm the third starter on the Mariners now, that's how bad their pitching is!) Metal Gear Acid 2 (which I bought on a lark but I'm actually enjoying a lot) Midway Arcade Treasures Extended Play (<3) I tend to like sports games, strategy games, RPGs, pretty much anything that's a solid game really. What games, either out now or coming up soon, should I get? |

| If you liked Metal Gear Acid 2 I would recommend picking up the first one as well. I personally preferred the first one. If you don't mind frequent load-times and a steep learning curve you might enjoy Monster Hunter as well. Tekken: Dark Ressurection looks absolutely amazing considering the PSPs limited power and the frame rate and load times are actually quite good. The problem is that the PSP (especially the D-PAD) just doesn't work well with fighting games. Tekken is by far the best fighting game on the PSP though if you like that type of game. Guilty Gear XX and Street Fighter Alpha are also pretty good. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is good if you like RPGs and are willing to learn its battle system. Its definitely different than most RPGs and isn't for everyone. I really don't know whats available in the states, but I know the above games have come out for it. I ended up selling my PSP because I just got fed up with it. Almost every game that is released for it is a watered down port of a console game that I would much rather play on a television. Thats not to say the DS is much better with its overpriced and usually rather bad gimmick-filled games though. |

| Lumines, I looked at but I just don't really get into puzzle games. Valkyrie Profile I looked at real hard before I went with Metal Gear Acid 2 instead. I'll probably pick it, and the Tekken game, up. I've been playing the hell out of the Mortal Kombat games on Midway Arcade Treasures with no real problem, so the D-pad issue doesn't really worry me. |

| Pride Never Die | PSP game selection is horrible, imo. GTA is decent, Lumines is excellent. I liked Loco Roco too just because it's a very different kind of game and the graphics just beautiful along with the music. I play emu's mostly on my PSP though. Playing through the real Final Fantasy 2 for the first time ever on a GBA emulator. I can see why it never made it to the states. Leveling up spells and crap sucks ass, but I will finish the game nonetheless and move on to FF IV. All in all your best bet is just to rent the games from gamefly or some place local if you can't downgrade to firmware 1.5 and use emu's and iso's with Devhook.

If you don't mind straight forward, old school rpg's, then the Legend of Heroes games were decent. Nice long story, but really easy. Burnout: Legends or Ridge Racer are the racing games to get.

seconded. I also have Ys 6 -- lots of loading though, so that can get annoying. Gradius Collection if you like shoot em ups - Gradius 1 - 4 and Gaiden all on 1 UMD.

| I just found out that a game called Metal Slug Complete is going to be released on the PSP in Japan on December 14th. Its basically a collection of all the Metal Slug arcade games that have come out so far. Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5, Metal Slug Five (two versions of 5) are going to be included. It also will support ad-hoc 2-player. Assuming the load times aren't too bad this game alone is almost worth the cost of the PSP for Metal Slug fans. |
