If I get into stalemate situations regarding a corridor or a corner where we are just trading fire, nothing mixes people up and scatters them like just running toward them with your melee out. 9 times out of 10 someone will pop you,but it'll get them off their asses and moving cause no one wants to be the guy that got caught and died to a fucking knife when he's got a bazooka.

This is undeniably true. On some servers out of sheer boredom I'll do this an entire round with the scout. its amazing how much chaos you can put the other team into when you can get behind the bunkered up snipers/engineers and just take out 5-6 people with a bat and get out before anyone knew what happened, or at worst caught by a sentry.

I tend to get in the best grooves on i believe on cp_badlands and im usually just laughing my ass off the whole way.

Bonesaw is deadly. Some of the BIGGEST chaos I ever saw on a server was this team of 2 medics, both with uber charge rdy. They would run in and the ubered medic would just bonesaw everyone, then when uber ran out he would uber the 2nd medic and he would bonesaw everyone. Holy fuck, everyone would just scatter. And for good reason...they were racking up MASSIVE kills. This was on Goldrush, btw.

I was playing on a cp remake of the Blackmesa map from... I dunno what else, but it was in NS in several versions. Great, great map.

Anyways, small ass halls, and I blew everyone away while playing soldier, and I'm a pretty bad soldier normally. One of my least favorite classes as a result.

I finally got this game and it doesn't run as smooth as I was hoping. Right now it's not even worth playing because it seems like my frames are complete shit. I even turned everything to low.

here are my specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3400+
1gb Kingston RAM
GeForce 6800XT 512mb

My cousin basically has the same system and his game runs fine... his video card might be better though. I think I may need a video card upgrade... any ideas?

edit: Can anybody recommend a cheap video card? I just want something that is better than what I have, and will get me by until I decide to get a new computer. It has to be AGP also and I know those are hard to come by these days.

Mate i run it on an AMD Xp 3200+, 1gb Corsair RAm, and a 6600gt (AGP!!!) card and it chugs along nicely at 1200 X something widescreen. (I think, i'll check when i get home. I know its above 1152X864)

You should be getting decent enough frames with your system. Have you tried the obvious, which is getting the new detonator drivers for your Geforce card?

Also, i think the best AGP cards still available are the 7000 series Geforce cards, maybe someone has made a 8000 series in an AGP format, but i stopped looking for replacements myself last year.

I wonder what the problem is then. I figured I should be fine since I'm above the recommended requirements. I downloaded the latest nVidia driver, but don't know what the detonator driver is. I'll check it out now.. but maybe I need to defrag my HD or something?

edit: oh, I'm also running it on a 22" widescreen at 1680x1050 or whatever. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

That's probably the difference. 1680x1050 is about 70% more pixels to fill than 1280x800.

For like 20 mins I was playing on a server with 2xcrit runspeed and some crazy mods like nades soldier super shotty engi with 1k metal build like 7 sentries. Unlimited ammo with no reloading. Was pretty fun, though the snipers super rapid fire machine gun is hilarious and annoying.

Duuuude, that sounds amusing. Engineers can build more than one sentry? Do you remember the IP?

no but the server name is like something something then says 2Xcrit runspeed and cuts off. They usually running Mario Cart night map I think.

Yeah the mario kart map sucks...

I put in a shift on the 2x crit server, just search 2x on game monitor and it'll come up there is four of them.

It's pretty insane the rapid fire spy stab and Automatic Sniper rifle are pretty funny,as are building 8 sentries.

Thing is,the heavies shotgun is one shot one kill on everything, players and sentries and so a heavy can clear out a nest of 15 sentires in one uber which is fucking hilarious.

The best is when new people join the server and start calling you a hacker cause you figured shit out. Medic life tap gun if you have it heals like 400 per hit,makes you damn near invincible if you are a decent hsot with it.


Not a server I would play on a lot but it's good for a laugh, we were playing on regular maps though,non of the MK nonsense.
