| Yep, not to mention the way shittier net-code of Half Life compared to Quake 1. You could actually play Team Fortress 1 on a dial-up connection and do well. Playing as a HPB in Team Fortress Classic was an exercise in futility. Plus, I think alot of us early video game adopters were using 3d accelerators and running GLQuake which gave us alot of the snazzy things that didn't really give Half Life that much of a visual edge really. |

I liked TFC in halflife days but that was around the time that cable was cheaper in my city then adding a 2nd phone line so I wouldn't always be hogging the telephone. So we had cable or DSL I can't remember. Quake, my parents at the time wouldn't let me play because they were Ultra right wing christians and believed that if I played the game I'd start killing kids or some crazy stuff like that....I played it at friends houses though = ) /em goes back to burning little timmy.... | |

| Who here played QWTF and was active in the community? I'm very curious if I can conjure up any old faces. I used to play on Dr.Smoothies privy server all the time with Gibkeeg, Scatter, Sgt.Coolguy, etc.

+19 Internets | I used to play on QW servers some. My Quake handle was MeTh_HeD. (Ironically, I hate idiots with alternating caps for names these days, however I thought I was e-cool back then.) |

| Was Il Duce, started UVM with my best friend at the time, Iridante. Went to a get together in Atlanta, Dr. Smooth was there and some other folks. Good friend of mine (IRL) was in both GT and OSKI at different times. UVM was there right at the beginning with Erinyes (CE), OSKI, GT, DJEDI, etc. Man I miss those days *sniffle*. |

| Ya my friend used to play Saqsakkor back then occasionally (I believe Dr. Smooth gave it to him to play when he was done playing for the most part or something like that, so it wasnt "way back then", was after Velious came out). I remember EQlizer had a shot of gibkeeg looting a razing sword of skarlon for its entry on their site. |
