+10 Internets | 100 meg MGS4 Trailer http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/e3_2006/ Not a second of gameplay in that 15 min trailer, but Kojima makes it painfully clear once again that he is 10 years ahead of everyone when it comes to the ambition of his stories. Two things to add: 1) if they manage to pull that nostalgy/end of days/global chaos atmosphere for the whole game, it will be amazing. 2) The comedy in the MGS serie is usualy embarassingly not subtle, but this time it seems better.

| Spoilers to MGS1: I played mgs1 a long time ago, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember there were 2 endings to mgs1. In either one, Meryl or Otacon dies? Anyone remember which one was the REAL ending? And the mgs4 trailer shows both Meryl and Otacon? Any ideas? |

+14 Internets | Octacon never died in either ending. Meryl was the only one who would die if you gave up in the torture room. So Meryl living is the official ending. They already hinted at this in MGS2, when Snake points at his headband and goes "unlimited ammo!". The headband was the reward you got for saving Meryl in MGS1.

| Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=cjgs9PRmt...id%20E3%202006 Part 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=PfpccK49w...id%20E3%202006 Raiden's apparent newfound badassery is amusing. Snake...uh...doing what he's doing right before the Raiden part kicks in is mildly disturbing. I'm fairly sure that Kojima intends for this to be the final game in the series, but I really hope that something that major wasn't just given away in a trailer probably more than a year prior to release. But I seriously doubt it. I can't see anyone giving away a major plot point like that, at least not this early. We shall see! |

| I like Snake's new suit that blends in the background. If the game will look anything like that trailer I'm sold 100% on the PS3. As for Raiden I hated him ever since MGS3 but in this one he seem to be pure ownage. At the end Snake putting the pistol in his mouth and supposedly killed himself was badass. I can't wait. ![]() |

| Kojima has officially said that Snake would NOT die in this game and that there will be at least another game with Snake to follow. Besides, even if Snake dies at some point in the series, they can always make more games about his past missions, or remakes of the first early NES games, or entirely new missions, or even some of Big Boss's missions before he went rogue. |

| This game looks so promising, definitely has my biggest expectations of everything from E3. I just re-finished Snake Eater, such a great epic game. On another note, anyone know of books or series that have storylines similar to the one in Metal Gear? I absolutely love the story behind these games. |
