It's all relative to KotL, who is just so much worse than anyone else. There are plenty of imba heroes who are flat out better than others, but I don't think there are many heroes in dire need of fixing... aside from Ezalor of course. Don't get me wrong, you can do well with him, but he's just so much harder than any other hero. He gets tons of INT but nothing to do with it. You have to depend on farming early, finding idiots willing to get killed by your illuminate, microing with your ult, and (imo) a blink dagger. Between illuminate and his ult, he can make a lot of money. And that's supposed to be the rationale for him being such garbage; he's supposed to outfarm, get gear, and then just start bullying people around with all the sweet gear he's got. The $$ disparity between the rich and the poor is much greater in non-em and makes KotL just a tad less shitty. But he's still shitty. You basically become a straight up ranged damage dealer with no real combat abilities. Mana leak is the only handy skill he's got mid-late game. I'd count his ult, but you can't bring that thing to fights. We affectionately call it money bags because it's got to have one of the highest gold:hp payouts in the game, and anyone who's ever killed one is acutely aware of that. His ult is good for pushes, which is what he's supposed to be good for, but he peaks at level 7, and by the time the game's in a position where rax are being pushed, there are plenty of ways that the enemy team has to get rid of your ult (and they're usually more than willing to do it). And you know, that by itself isn't really that bad--you can make it work. But the nail in the coffin, and the reason why he's the only hero in the entire game that I seriously consider repicking, is that he's such a fucking bus. There is nothing worse than getting creepblocked; between his ult and his fat ass, it happens to him all too often (hence the blink dagger, which helps). Being a bus is a drawback to any hero; Enigma, Jak, Magnus, Levi, etc. are strong enough to make up for that deficiency, but KotL is not. Krob is really not that bad. She can farm just fine with her 4 second ae nuke, 6 second silence (which sorta acts like mana leak, except it can hit multiple people and stop them from casting anything at all, unlike mana leak which effectively silences them on their 2nd or 3rd spell), and she's got a monster of an ult--she can do just fine. Whoa I just kinda went on there. ![]()

+14 Internets | Krob is VERY good. Her ultimate does INSANE fucking damage, letting her solo-push towers with ease and destroy enemies that get caught inside her cloud of death. Combine this with silence and AE nukes, and you have one of the best pushers when you factor in your teammates. Unless they have a massive strength advantage, they will run once you shit out the green ghosts. She is DEADLY vs. int heroes. She also has a very good move speed, which lets you kite enemies while your ghosts eat them. I can't count how many people I'd kite, before I turned around and carrioned/dagoned them to get the kill. Keeper is good too, but he needs alot of item love. Manaleak can be a game winner if used properly. There is NO skill in the game that can in theory wipe out a 2k+ mana pool instantly. He's also the guy you want on your team if they have skeleton king, as his ult = fucked if he uses a hammer bolt. Btw, one thing people underestimate is the range of his kamehameha fireball You can easily hide behind trees and cover the entire width of a lane and then some. He's also great to put on hills, where the fog obscures you. His mana heal is also great for low int heroes that need mana after popping some abilities. That being said, he's mostly a support hero.Broodmother is pretty evil once built up (esp if they agi/int heroes), and spectre diffuse is annoying as sin. It's a hell of alot higher then the %12 proc rate the tooltip claims. Also, like zeus, she's a fun hero to have if they have leavers who left early game, as your ult might score you a free kill ;P Avernus is so fucking annoying to play against. His shield costs very little mana and does ALOT of damage early game, which lets you be really aggressive. He's almost unstoppable if they have omniknight too. Personally my fav heroes are Ogre Magi (multicast 4tw) and Omniknight. Omni is SO fucking powerful when played properly (aka like a paladin in wow). He can turn a strong team into a super strong team. Early game I usually work on mana pool/mana regen, then I get things like radiance/bots/etc. When shit gets bad, I usually bubble hearth hehe ;P

+19 Internets | Not Sven. The knight with that ae dmg shield shit and the insane regen ult. Quote:
And speaking of Omni...Omni + Pudge is the gayest fucking shit I've ever encountered. Omni degen aura and Pudge rot stacks, can't do a god damn thing. Ogre Magi is pretty fun to play but I always feel like I get the worst luck with his multicasts. Even with sceptre I don't seem to get the amount of success with mc as other people do (1 cast kills). I like Keeper of the Light, if you're good with your timing you can prefire enemies before they realize you're even down the road. Most Keepers stand in plain sight all the enemy has to do is close distance and rail you from behind. Blink dagger is really helpful with him. I'm noticing public dota games are becoming more serious/competitive. I guess with all the league play it was bound to happen. Last edited by Zarcath : 07-02-2007 at 05:18 AM.

| Count me in. I also just remembered that -DM is an even better crash-course to the heroes than regular ole -AR. You'll get probably 4-6 heroes per game (hopefully not more than that unless you really suck) and can make mental notes of who you liked, what worked, who sucks, etc. Last edited by Jabberwhacky : 07-02-2007 at 06:56 PM. |

| The only problem with DM when you are first starting up is the inability to specialize a character. There are just some items you can't get in a DM match. Just yesterday, I started with Treant Protector and got 2 battlefury's...not knowing it was a DM game (gg afk at start). My next 3 characters (dazzle, viper, huskar) made the items pointless. DM is good later on once you know the universal items to get, and how to get them. |

| Well, I hang in the same channel as Vurt, but I've been going solo to try and get better. It's kind of working. I don't get ganked nearly as often, but I usually die in group combat due to overextension or lack of instinct. Usually during a team push, my teammates know when to back(without saying anything), and the next thing I know it's me vs. 4 opposing heroes and I die. Other than that, it's a good idea to say "top/mid/bot mia" when you are in that lane and the enemy hero is missing. People seem to get really pissy about that. |

| Is Thursday evening, 8-10PM EST on East good for everyone? Looks like we've got enough willing participants. I'm just throwing a time out there. Battle.net doesn't make this sort of organization very easy. |
