The game is good if you aren't PL'd or grouped with a bunch of dipshits.

I think that was my problem. I got into Diablo 2 after they came out with the Battle Chest for it, so it had been out quite awhile. I quickly found out that you couldn't take your single player char into multiplayer, so I decided to go through the game on Battle.net so as to not waste my time building a single player char just to remake him when I wanted to play online.

So I create a character in my own room online and start going through the story. 20 minutes later I'm in the Bloody Foothills in a group of 6 people. I completely missed the entire story. It was fun enough just running Bloody runs over and over again so I never went back and played through the story legit.

I reinstalled and played it this week. I played online, but solo and just finished normal. Was definitely worth it but I don't think I can get into the grind to 99 mode ever again. Was worth a revisit for sure though.

Splitting time between D2 and EQ was hard. All my friends played D2 but I was already hooked into EQ with an IV. Seriously, all through high school, all I did was daydream about going home and playing EQ. Fuck I was a loser.

Necros are easily viable 'til the end. there are youtube videos showing one soloing ubers.

I just did up a summoner necro that works fine with the melee being meat shields and the casters doing the rest with corpse explode

DiabloII.Net - The Unofficial Diablo II Site!

The forums have builds and such there. There are plenty of good builds for 1.11 that are off beat and still very effective. By effective that means it takes a little more brainwork than to stand and spam Blessed Hammer or Chain Lightning/Frozen Orb/Meteor.

Anyway yeah I'm on US East as *zeratul3 or *urlithani. I started about 3 months ago and I have a 86 Skelliemancer, 82 Meteor/Frozen orb sorc, 73 Lightning Trapsin, 59 Summoner Druid, 70 Lightning Sorc, 62 Avenger Paladin. Blah blah blah.

So yeah if you are gonna reinstall and play US East ladder send me a whisper. I have 14 mules with crap I just never get around to trading.

Skelliemancers rock if you can afford the gear for them. Wielding Beast and your merc using the Concentration polearm made your horde so fucking insane, it just takes a ton of high runes to get there. Enigma is a must too, because goddamn is your horde AI retarded.

I may give online a try again if you're still kicking around. I've been playing that Eastern Sun mod lately, mostly because the idea of starting from scratch online is pretty daunting. That first set of gear is so hard to get.

Hammerdin or blizzard sorc are the best to roll if you're just starting out. Easy as hell to get decent gear (vipermagi and Spirit sword/shield and you're set through nightmare and a lot of hell) and they can farm nightmare like beasts.

Yeah, not really surprised or disappointed being that it wasn't an announcement. Though I hoped it could've been a patch or something.. bleh. Sparked my interest a bit for June 29th, but I have my doubts. I mean they are going with StarCraft 2 and the next WoW Expansion, I dunno if they're going to bring out Diablo 3 really just yet. I would expect it would come sometime after SC2 release or the WoW expansion hits. /shrug

There is something else being worked on at blizzard, no idea what it is unless the game is actually called Top Secret (which I doubt).

Blizzard Entertainment - Employment Opportunities

It's fucking pathetic. Blizzard tookover Starcraft2 about 8 years before they made the game. Some shitass fansite for a game everyone forgot about transferred some DNS. I'm sure getting an email from the Blizzard legal team is like OMGWTFBBQ biggest thing ever but this was lame.
