Is ANYONE shocked that this is all it was? Maybe at Blizzcon they'll announce something. I may go this year, I'm on the fence simply because I really want to get a Wrath beta key and I want to see what they'll announce (almost certainly a new Diablo).

Yea, there really isn't much that's viable besides sorcs and hammerdin builds. Bowzon can be good, but getting a decent bow is a nightmare unless you have gear built up.

Depends whether he was infringing on some copyright or trademark. If the domain name was something Blizzard has rights over (starcraft, worldofwarcraft, etc.) they probably could take it. Since Diablo is just a normal word though, I'm not sure.

There are a whole lot of things that come into play, but my guess he more or less gave it to them, maybe in return for something little on the side.

Sadly it's warranted. A gimp build won't get you through Hell anymore. My rabies druid spent all his time picking up scraps from Hammerdins on Cow level.

Did they increase the difficulty or something? I remember making my own instances and soloing the Cow Level on it's hardest difficulty back in the day...with ease at that.

Don't recall what they did, think they added a ton of new monster ability types? and immunity combinations. Pretty much made it so that you had to have +40 skills to accomplish anything.

Hell difficulty is much more hellish than it was originally. Starting in Nightmare monsters gained immunities to certain elements, including physical. In Hell they can recieve 2 or 3 of these making many specs unable to kill certain combinations. Even non-named mobs recieved immunties. Someone who focuses on just one type of damage could find they can't kill hardly anything in some cases.

I still play my legit 78th level barbarian on hell levels and immunity to physical isn't that bad with all my bleed+fire+lightning+ice dmg and spell procs on hit. I can't imagine playing a sorc though because to often I see immunity to Fire and Light or Cold and Light.

Diablo 3 has had a playable client for over 3 years now.. The fact that Blizzard would feel it necessary to say "This shouldn't be considered an announcement for Diablo 3" should tell you enough. That's EXACTLY what it is..

Yeah, the days of Frozen Orb are long gone. Don't recall seeing many sorcs when I revisted, some folks had Warmth sorcs just to OP groups.

You guys are dicks. Here I am in 2008 with a computer system that can play everything short of Crisis on high and I'm considering reinstalling Diablo fucking 2 again. I never even really got into Diablo 2 back when it was new. Why does D2 nostalgia affect me so?
