Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter

http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/to...on3/index.html

Believe it's out today or tomorrow for PC.

The most promising thing I read in the review was...

Quote:
don't mistake the PC version for being a port of the Xbox 360 game. The PC version has larger and different levels than those featured on the Xbox 360, as well as a different graphics engine and style of gameplay. It will have a vastly different multiplayer suite, as well. Advanced Warfighter for the PC will ship with two multiplayer modes. There's a cooperative gameplay mode that lets you play the entire single-player campaign with up to four players, as well as a new domination mode, which feels like a nice twist on the conquest mode found in Battlefield 2.
First, it's not a direct port AND it has special tailor-made gameplay for the PC. Second, multiplayer co-op. Fucking yes! I swear tactical squad combat is the wave of the future, I hope it's as fun as SWAT 4 is, sounds like it'll be way more indepth too.

Not being a direct port sounds like a bad thing in this case. I didn't bother downloading it last week, but the people who did and have played the X360 version already said the game was much better on the 360.

Other problems seem to be the total lack of AA (can't even force it on, because of the shaders they use), pretty poor graphics overall, especially if you don't have a 512MB card, and AI that badly needs a patch.

The co-op mode does sound like a lot of fun though.

The AI is poo. Sometimes I'll want to avoid things like, you know, tanks and shit. Well, the squadmates instead of taking a direct, logical route to me will run around a building and into a tank and get blown to ratshit.

Enemy ability to detect you is pretty weird at best; sometimes you can run up behind them and just stand there and they don't notice you. Other times they can see you from across the map, despite having their back to you.

Enemy tanks are a whore because quite often, you only have one, maybe two anti tank weapons. You can sometimes call in anti armor via apache, but they don't show up real fast.

Apparently Mexico city is entirely tan, like, all of it. Graphics don't appear to be anything special, yet it runs medicore at best.

I'm still playing, but the game needs a lot of work.

Alright well graphics can be a valid arguement, but AI will probably never be up to par. I was really interested in the came for the co-op, have you gotten a chance to try it?

Haven't the Ghost Recon games always had co-op?
