I just tried out this Sim City clone, and overall, its not too bad. I think it provides a bit more motivation to keep playing then Sim City, which I tend to get bored with fairly quickly.

The major differences are having goals to aim for on each map, with harders ones to achieve bronze, silver, or gold medals. It also seems that some of the maps don't allow for the goals to be achieved through just throwing money at them, though it can certainly help.

The other difference is the introduction of classes of citizens, that you have to keep happy with different means. This is fairly basic since you can easily get around them by just segregating all the different classes, though it becomes tricky later on when you need to make sure they can work on the services needed in another classes area. Ie, you might need a 'suit' to work in a hospital in the blue collar's area.

I think the scoreing could have been done better, with a high score table with perhaps a time that you achieve the different medals so you can go back and try to beat them later. Perhaps even a score showing how much money, land, etc you used to getting the medals.

Also, the game is fairly unbalanced atm, with a lot of the 2nd tier services having abnormally high maintenance cost. So a small medical center might cost 200 a month, but a hosptival costs 4000. I found myself going broke all too often from upgrading too quickly.

I think the sequal, if there is one, will be a much better game, with more polish, great options of things to build, perhaps more classes and more complicated ways for them to interact.

In the end though, if you enjoyed Sim City for any reason, you would probably be entertained by this game as well.

Pfft, whatever with that "real" city building crap. Real boys play Caesar IV. But really, all it comes down to is that there is a little bit of combat in Caesar and the monies are called Dinar...or maybe Gold.

Hmmm cool, I was a pretty huge fan of Ceaser 2 and 3, and it's the first I've read anything about a new 4th game in the series.
