Anyone has the first one? I see Gamespot gave it good reviews and Bestbuy is selling the game for $20.00. I'm thinking about picking it up to see what's the all the hype about it.

Cons: Monster's are reused (but pink!) the game is kinda fast (as in not 20+ hours long)

Pros: Excellent graphics, good game play, good story / lore. Really what matters is that game play. And it is definatly worth it.

I never beat the first God of War, but don't you kill pretty much every notable greek god along the way? What would be left to do?

honestly, the first one is fantastic. the story line and the detail they use makes the gameplay amazing. on normal difficulty, the game is a little easy, I suggest trying it on the max levels when you first get it. the reason ? you might find some stages repetitive due to the number of badguys that are in each room. at least on the hardest level it is repetitive and frustrating in those scenes...hehe. for 20 bucks you cant deny the greatness of it.

For 20 bones I'd say thats a good pickup yah. It's very short (I played thru in about 15 hours) and very little replayability, so for full price I would say no but $20 it's worth it. Great game.

No, not at all. You get an_hydra23, a_medusa25, a_minotaure12 and Ares. That's it.

Yeah, it's a steal at $20. In addition to what was mentioned about the game, the music and sound is also top notch.

Also, you can't say you've beat it till you've done the Trial of the Gods... that shit was rough at the very end. Also, running through the game again with Kratos in a cow suit wielding dual milk jugs is $$$$

I can't wait to see some of the more brutal kill animations in the new game. They were simple awesome in God of War.

The game is awesome. It does get somewhat repetitive killing mino, harpies, undead soldiers back to back. Other than that I'm having a blast playing it. Right now I'm stuck at the part where your underwater trying to get past that iron gate. I keep fucking getting killed. Anyhow the game was well worth $20.00.

Swim into the hole, come up real fast and 'charge swim' once then haul ass. Do the same thing for the next hole, thank me later.


I agree, buy this game. Passing it up at $20 is stupid, such an awesome game.

dont forget rotating spike logs of "the only time i died in the game" and was stuck dealing with that shit for hours.

The spike logs weren't that bad. The only time I ever hit a snag was Aries when you had to use the blade of the gods. I never even touched the blade of artemis so I had no clue how to even use the pos; took me like 15 tries to kill that fuck on normal. His first form when you have the blades of chaos was cake, souls of hades = rape.
