New C&C3 game confirmed

Scheduled to be released in 2007. Sounds cool to me with some of the concept art introduced.

It always amazes me how german mags get so much insider info considering most games get butchered by their censors.

I remember reading how in half-life 1, all the marines were replaced with robots and when you killed them, they sat down.

Personally I love the C&C story line, its still very open ended where kane could be CABAL or that Kane was just a puppet of the alien known as the "Scrim" etc. What i'd like to see is kane being a 4thfaction apart from the alien Scrim, (lets pretend CABAL was a 5th AI entitiy here, or just Kane's 2nd attempt at global domination thinking nod would oppose gdi instead of grouping up with) and that trying to progress the planet to be strong enough to oppose the alien threat. This 3rd installment should very well be aliens vs the planet, but interesting to see where NOD (if they were just puppets all along for aliens or just the 2nd faction against GDI) fit in all of this, as well as the mutant uprising with tratos.. (well since he was assassinated, I guess they will continue increasing in numbers even though the GDI have gained the tacitus's knowledge in trying to reverse the effects..) ah i could go on

I'm pretty sure they no longer have the zero-blood laws for games now like they did in the past.

However, they do still have a ban on displaying nazis or nazi symbols in any entertainment-oriented media (games, films, books). By entertainment I mean non-educational or fiction. So it's ok to do a film about the last days of Hitler (Downfall), but it's not ok to have nazis in a movie about a vampire who fights them (Bloodrayne).

This is also why you notice alot of games that deal with a WW2 theme have any nazi-related stuff missing. Any EA game usually. Also with COH when they removed the 5th coincidently at the sametime the game was launched in Europe.

Nobody official censors anything in Germany. The game companies censor the games by themselves to get a 16+ rating.

Just replace blood and gore with boobs and sex (eg hot coffee) and you know how usa compares to germany considering ageratings

What's wrong with bombarding innocents with nukes? Atleast that's relatively quick and painless (without regard to the fallout), compared to internment camps.

Edit: Game looks pretty killer. After Red Alert I didn't think they were going to make anymore. Glad they are.

Quick and painless if you are at ground zero. Everyone else slowly dies from burns + poisoning.

Cool. Tiberian Sun was a lackluster game but I love the Tiberian storyline.

I'm kind of dissapointed they're breaking away from the dawn->sun->eve/night thing but oh well. They probably don't want to close the series like that. I wouldn't have minded a closed trilogy, but I guess it's bad business.

Hopefully this won't just be EA making a shitty game and ruining a semi-good name to earn a profit. Westwood went bye-bye so we'll see if EA commits to making quality like some of their games, or crap like most of their games.

As far as telling a story, I doubt they'll be able to top Tiberian Sun, with their 'real-life' videos containing acting talent like James Earl Jones.
