A lot of the songs are by the real bands heh... that's a big selling point of this one: that's actually dethklok and primus and a lot of them.

Yeah, Stop is the actual master recording, just like John the Fisherman. Pretty cool. Hope they get more of those in the future.

My roomate bought GH2 and Gears of War...we havent even touched GoW except the first level since GH2 is so damn fun. The way they do multi-player is so much better than the first. One person plays bass or rhythm and one plays lead. The best part is each player can have their own difficulty setting. So you can set it on hard lead guitar and give your girlfriend easy mode bass.

Oh and it does seem harder. It seems like each difficulty level is one level higher than in GH1. So easy on GH2 is like normal on GH1. Or maybe I am just out of practice.

They said that it was higher difficulty then 1. Ya it shows it. Songs on medium have a lot more faster notes and note changes. And I found a bonus song on medium that had an orange note in it.

Holy shit did they not fuck around with the Face-Melters this time. Institutionalized is stupid hard. Misirlou is easily beaten by up/down strum spam, but getting 4-5 stars on it is going to be a nightmare.

I just bought it too...what kills me is that I don't have the ability to strum up and down well at all. I fuckin NAIL the solos, but I can never do rhythm sections where I need to strum up and down. Gotta do the practice mode or something and teach myself that stuff.

I'm waiting for someone to start a guitar hero band. Just need to incorporate the drums.

What's funny is, some people play this game so much, if they put the time they spend on actually learning a guitar they'd be pretty damn good and could actually play these songs. Take that trogdor song you posted, that song really isnt that hard to play on a real guitar.

Hell, if they made a video game out of doing pretty much anything and it was enjoyable..you could learn alot of shit you werent ever interested in. Shrug.

PI Hero, how far can you go!??!

I was thinking the same thing as I watched a bunch of YouTube's of people playing. Half of playing a guitar song is the rhythm, with the other half being finger placement. OK, that's a bit of an oversimplification but the shift from doing this to playing an actual guitar would be a whole heck of a lot easier than someone just picking up a guitar for the first time.

I'm having the same problem atm. Extended strings of the same note always ruins my streak; can never keep the timing just right. The 1-2 things are the worst. G, GR, G, GR, G, GR for 100 notes is just murder for me.

Man they made this so much harder than the first one. I'm stuck on Psychobilly Freakout on Expert, and my poor wrists feel like they're going to fall off =/

I did an eight hour multi player session on Sunday. It's really fun. You can only two player it but each song has a combo of lead/bass or lead/rythym on Co-op. Then there is the regular multi player duel you saw in the previous game. Finally there is a power duel where you are both playing the same song and notes.

It's really nice and as someone pointed out before you can setup each guitar on a different level of difficulty.

Oh one other thing. Star power is linked on Co-op. If both of you don't shake the guitar or press the start button you won't get star power. My friends started to put their backs to each other in like a cheesy metal band type move to know when to do star power. =)

Ok. Before I say anything, I don't claim to be good at this game, or Guitar Hero 1 for that matter, but the last tier on expert blows my damn mind (with Misirlou, Hangar 18, Institutionalized, and Beast and the Harlot). I'm sure some of you have beaten those songs on expert, and if you wanna give me some tips on beating these four songs (I assume Freebird is the last encore song) I would appreciate it.

And please don't tell me just strum fast as hell, because I realize that.. My arm doesn't like to move that fast.

Other than that tier, the only songs I couldn't pass my first time through were Freya and Psychobilly Freakout.
