Now chances are they will do another SC project, be it Ghost 2.0 or something different. You can bet on the fact they will probably recycle certain elements of Ghost, such as the Nova character.

| haha. I guess that's what happens when they have a console game in development for a bajillion years. It gets nearly completed and 'o nos! new console generation makes this look like shit!' It's a shame, I thought it sounded pretty damn interesting. |

+9 Internets | Blizzard better start working on a PS4 title if they want to complete it before the PS5 is out....

| I think it was being at least partially developed (if not wholly) by some console company at first, until Blizzard realized it wasn't coming out very well and took complete control. I think that fucked up their time table. I could be totally wrong but I seem to rememeber these details. |

+9 Internets | My approximative memory tells me it was them all along, but at some point they were unhappy with the sneaking oriented game play and decided to go toward another direction and almost restarted from scratch. EDIT: Actually it when from Nihilistic (the guys who made Vampire: The Masquerade) who started working on the title in 2002 I guess since the first demo shown are from late 2002 trade shows to Swingin' Ape Studios that Blizzard bought in May 2005 for the (sole?) purpose of finalizing Ghost. It's Swingin' Ape Studios that shifted the game play toward more action, while leaving some of the sneaking elements in place. That sounds a bit like the XIII fps from Ubi btw: the devs focused on sneaking around and then realized they were not too good at making a good sneaking game, so shifted toward action, made the maps bigger, added action oriented scripted events but left all the sneaking elements in place for those that felt so inclined. The main difference obviously is that Ubi released the game :P

| I thought it was another company they contracted to make it, under Blizzard's watch? Like, the producers were Blizzard's, but the actual coders were not. |

| I'm glad I was never excited about this game. Blizzard really needs to make Starcraft 2 and not try some other genre. I remember they tried to do the point and click adventure genre with "Warcraft Adventures" or something like 8 years ago and it ended up getting canned too. I was pretty sad to hear about that cancellation because it really looked pretty cool. |

+14 Internets | Warcraft Adventures lived on, though. They took all the lore, etc and tossed it into WC3 in the form of Thrall and the whole "shaman orc" angle. Although it's really not that uncommon for Blizzard to "start over". WC3 underwent a massive retooling gameplay wise, and SC used to look and play alot more differently as well. It's good that they are willing to go back to square one as opposed to just shitting the product out, even if it isnt that great.

| SC was WC2 in space, even more so then it was, it used effectively the same engine and everything. I've seen old shots of the original sprites used, and it was far inferior to the SC we know and love. It's both Blizzard's best, and worst, aspect. Their ability to not release products that they feel are inferior, and to take a long time to make sure a game is worth releasing. |
