Fable is the same way though.Even becoming Evil is easier than being good. Not suprising perhaps coming from the same studio. It does beg the question as to why though,Perhaps in the case of Fable,it's not that the game is easier, but in fact quicker if you are evil. | |

+1 Internets | Flat water appearance (not water physics) is basically free these days. Every programmer has learnt the same little algorithm and offloads it all to the vid card. It's no longer a bonus point, you suck if you didn't do it. Falling water and waterwheels etc are still the hard shit. With respect to B&W I got sick of the first one by the end of the 1st chapter after my monster spent all his time resisting training with all his might and I found out that clicking "just so" on the town hall with wood made the difference between nil resources and infinite resources. Cool idea, asstastic execution. I loved Fable though ![]() |

+11 Internets | I don't really like the premise, to be honest. It's not a god game, it's a city planner game with minor military elements in which you're a god just so they can justify insta building and your creature, who's often more obnoxious to control than anything. If you want to make a 'god' game, some of the elements work. Using your creature as a conduit to go around to prebuilt cities, gather worshippers, work miracles to help alleviate problems rather than dropping people on other people to make more babymakers and tracking down some guy's daughter that takes about 30 minutes to walk to her location just to prove you didn't immaculately conceive her bastard - all better ideas for a game about being a deity. B&W has sadly always been a game for city planners with a god complex =/ |

| Mmm...Black and white. Probably one of the most underrated games ever. First of all, the game was not as bug ridden as some of y'all are sayin it was. Download patch 1.2 and it was pretty smooth. Anyways, I got the game a few days after it came out. That was 5 years ago, and it was still fun up until B&W2 came out(just because it's an obvious upgrade..) I had tons of fun beating the shit out of other creatures with my wolf or monkey. It was so fun to fight in the middle of a huge city, and kick the other creature out from underneathe, and watch him fall, taking out half the city and its people with him. There was always something to do. Throwing people, setting huge fires, seeing how long it would take to mega blast my entire city to ruins...or just watching my giant monkey dance... Ya, it got old after awhile. But it was fun while it lasted. Now it's just one of those games where I'm like, "It's fun for a few hours.."So I install it, and just mess around.

| Like it or hate it, there's no way in hell you can say B&W1 was underrated. Its metacritic score is a 90, FFS. What I remember most about the game was all the sites that came back at the end of the year and said that they rated the game way too high the first time around. Reviewers seem to be avoiding the hype this time, as B&W2 only has a [much more appropriate] 76, so far. |

+24 Internets | B&W2 is what B&W1 should've been. The graphics are significantly better, but most of the gameplay changes from B&W1 aren't really additions, just, well changes. The huge major exception being, of course, armies, which are cool but fall flat for me for a very annoying reason: You can't re-stock your army with troops. Maybe I just haven't gotten the "Did you Know? Press ctrl-shift a to move villagers towards the selected army to restock it." thing. But if I make an army, fight continually, I run out of people and what not. Getting the creature to be useful is almost a waste of time, maybe I haven't figured it out well enough but I can build cities faster without training him to help me... I played the evil side up to fighting the second asian guy, and finished that island then restarted and went good. Playing evil is too easy, you just need to use your creature to take out any resistence then come in with a small army and cap things. Playing good is much more involving and rewarding(imo). Right now I'm on the island where you fight two asian guys together, but a gameplay element of earthquakes and volcanoes piss me off, I like my land and don't like it ruined for bullshit reasons like that. Anywayu, it's a good game but I'm avoiding playing it because I don't want to deal with an earthquake in my backyard.

| I dislike how annoying the interface is. Which is ironic considering he tried to make it intuitive. I mean I have to shake my fucking hand to cancel an action. That makes me want to punch the monitor after about 5 shakes. Why can't I just RIGHT CLICK LIKE IN EVERY STRATEGY GAME EVER TO CANCEL / DESELECT. Instead I have to shake. Oh, wait, you didn't shake properly, it is still selected. Shake again. Nope. Once more... finally got it! My creature is a bumbling idiot, and the game halts to a slideshow mid game, despite working just fine on a fresh reload. Also, I buy the water miracle, AND hand casting by shapes, and I draw a W. No water. I do it again, no water. I make 30 fucking W shapes with my mouse. No water miracle. I follow the pattern exactly as shown, still no water. To be honest I just find the interface amazingly irritating, not to mention the demon / angel fellows. You can't skip jack shit. Oh yeah, that fucking rooster on the first island. "Please make my rooster stop waking me up." Well shit, that sounds easy enough. Wolf, come over here and eat this. Oh, you can't pick that rooster up. He's a MAGICAL rooster or something. So I take over the island and have free reign, with influence over anywhere. I, THE GOD that can lift rocks as large as villages, can not pick up or slap this rooster. I can't TOUCH the fucking rooster. So, speaking of rocks the size of a village, I do just that and pick one up. I drop it on the rooster, and guess what, COCK A DOODLE DOO. I think the rooster is the real god there. |

| i ignored the rooster. game is pretty fun. it is almost everything the first one should have been. its so easy to get people to migrate and its not like the computer is smart enough to send the creature to attack the walls or build siege weapons. |

| the computer may need work or something. i smashed down its gate in 1 assault and it never thought it was important enough to repair. i really like how you arent draw into the shitty creature duel like in the first one. |
