On the subject of DOTA, I am screwed by the new 1.8 or whatever wc3 patch. I haven't had my original wc3 disc for a long time, but I have my frozen throne so I can play fine. But I recently bought a new computer, and transfered the contents of my old harddrive to the new. Now, wc3 still runs off my frozen throne disc, but it isn't techincally 'installed', as in the autorun wants me to install when I put the disc in, and more importantly, the patch doesn't recognize that I have the game installed, and won't work. The manual patch from their tech site also fails, so I'm pretty much stuck untill my hax powers increase 10 fold or I buy a new wc3 disc I guess.

Download an ISO of WC3, virtually mount it, and install it. Should be fine then.
