+1 Internets | Revolution being revealed... September 16. linky Apparently, they'll unveil the system specs, controller, and some games including... MARIO 128! Also, the controller may have been leaked, but it could just as easily be another fake. horselink edit: is anyone else more anxious for Revolution than 360/ps3? I can't wait to be able to play (for free hopefully) classics from nes-n64. I'm not going to lie, if the leaked controller is real, I don't see what is so great about it. But perhaps the games will take a true advantage of it and it'll make them a lot more fun. Who knows? |

+1 Internets | Not sure. I haven't been keeping up with it other than reading up on some of the controller fakes. They could very well have said that, but I thought they were originally trying to see how they could make them free. I'll see if I can find the answer. edit: yeah, they said there'll be a fee, but it didn't mention what it was. They said that they might bundle free old games with newer ones, and do limited offer free games and shit. Oh well, I doubt it'll be much cash though. +53 Internets | It strikes me as slightly funny because N64 games were some of the most expensive out there when released. You could find some going for 70 or even 80 dollars up until the systems death. I worked at Wal-Mart and we had like 40 copies of some pokemon game for 60 bucks. They finally dropped the price to 15 bucks and sold a grand total of 1 before they shipped them all back or something. |

+1 Internets | Personally, I see it as Nintendo's last gasp, and quite an excellent one, as you'll have their entire legacy right there in one box. They simply can't keep up with the mainstreaming of console gaming Sony and Microsoft have done; the Revolution will be an amazing system and worth everyone's money, but it'll be relegated to third place a la GCN. Just my prediction. |

+5 Internets | In the same way the DS is 10 times more exciting than the PSP as far as game goes, the Revolution sounds like it will be the platform of choice for off-beat, small budget games. I am more than fed up by uninventive and formulatic super productions based on some licence. The PS3 has also some potential for that too I guess, since it will without a doubt crush concurence in Japan, making it easier to make benefits with niche games.

+17 Internets | The Revolution is the one I'm the least excited about by far. Mostly because there's just no fucking information at all on it. I'm buying an Xbox360 and a PS3 for sure, I can't say the same about Nintendo's shit at this point. Even though the Xbox360's launch line up is pretty asstastic, it's still somewhat interesting. |

+2 Internets | Unless they come up with something else besides 48 different Mario and 124 different Pokemon games, I don't see it challenging the 360 and PS3. They need to sell themselves as having games for adults, in addition to the stuff that 8 year olds play. |

| I haven't gone with Nintendo since the Super Nintendo. Thier consoles all just seem to be seriously lacking compared to other systems, whether in game selection or system power. I hope they stop the mainstream type consoles and just go with making the oddball shit like the DS. I'd much rather see them go the way Sega did and just start making games for other systems. That way I don't miss out on the 3 or 4 good games they make, cause I can play them on a real system. |

| Nintendo always had their own niche in console gaming, i.e Mario Party and they have a few products to fall back on like Zelda & Mario which were hits on each of their systems and sure will help them sell millions when the Revolution sees light. I'm sure they'll sell a decent number of copies, but can't compete with 360 or PS3, unless they come up with something fancy. What also doesn't help is the fact that Nintendo always have had a good copy protection system for their consoles, unlike Sony. One of the reasons I bought the ps2 system is because you can play game copies easy, the Nintendo system either used cartridges or those weird mini-DVD's, which cost a lot at the time and were a hassle. (If i'm not mistaked, Microsoft tried to sue Sony for their shabby protection on the ps2, saying that Sony didn't care cause they just sold the console and didn't make games themselves, therefor had a shoddy protection so they'd sell more) |

I still wouldn't buy a Gamecube for that.

+17 Internets | Well, granted it won't look as good, but RE4 is coming out for the PS2 with extra content. So no, a GC isn't worth buying for it. I'd say it WAS worth buying for it when it was GC exclusive. Second best game of the year, btw. DMC3 barely > RE4 > every other game this year. |
