Very good game, started playing it last night, and just couldn't stop. I don't know how the game gets with the time, but I had a pleasant first impression.
When you do "special" shots, like long distance headshots, killing 2 people at once, long distance running target, and so on, the view switches to following the bullet and you see a closeup of your target beeing hit.
All the counterstrike campers around the world will love it.

Ok played it a bit more. If there was one thing to say about this game, it is the AI. Probably the best I ever saw. By far superior to any quake like, ennemies do not give up as easyly. They are hard to fool, and will not run into your traps like idiots. They hide, will throw grenades towards you, they circle around you, work as a team and so on ...
You realy have to be sneaky, crawl around without making too much noise, find a good spot to snipe from, shoot, and then move quickly (but silently !

) to another since the ennemies will go look where you shot from.

Surprisingly enough, with the previous elements beeing said, the game is not that hard. What is quite weird is that also the game wants to be very realistic (like gravity beeing used when you shoot : you have to aim "higher" when you shoot further), your health is not at all, and you can take several bullets in the chest before things get too critical (and you can use medikits that fully heal you). I guess it is for the best though, otherwise it would be way too frustrating.
Machineguns have a quite wide spreading range, so when they shoot you from a long distance, they miss quite a lot, and you beeing a sniper, you have a huge advantage on them (headshot 4tw ! ).

As for the game itself, it is more of a splinter cell in outdoors (city in ruins, country, etc...), without the acrobatics, where you put people to sleep in a more expeditive kind of way.

For those who remember "Hidden and Dangerous" (if you liked it, you will love Sniper Elite), the game is very similar to that (with lots of improvements of course

and more focused on the sniping part). A very good game all in all.

The "follow the bullet" mode is a lot of fun !
