+18 Internets | My brain just had a sudden flashback. The game---Mortal Kombat Mythologies: SubZero. This was easily one of the worst games in a long line-up of bad n64 games. The most horrid control system ever created added to complex jumping puzzles on endlessly repetative and long levels had me on the brink of tears more than once. But I persevered for countless hours and finally made it to the last level out of sheer willpower. Then came the moment so horrid it has been blocked from my memory until just now. I wandered up and down the last level for at least an hour, there was nothing there....no enemies, no doorways, no nothing just a long hallway that lead nowhere. I was damned determined to see it to the end though, so I broke my cardinal rule and went to the internet and found a walkthrough. The last level is suppose to have an elevator that one could take up, except my cartridge was defunct and the last level was completly broken and devoid of anything except the background image. I remember turning off the 64 and taking the cartridge out but it gets a little fuzzy after that. |

| I cryed like a little bitch with a skinned knee when there was no sequels ever made for the best fucking game ever for the Nintendo, Bionic Commando. That game was the shizles. Also, for some of you other videogame geeks, doses anyone remember the name of the game for the sega genesis where u had a small plane that transformed into a man and u could capture bases and make tanks and shit? I can say the name but I am too much of a moron to spell it. It sounded German. Herzog ui? I forget now. That game was awesome as well , my friend use to kick my ass so hard he made me cry once. |

Another game I'm impressed by anyone beating is Ninja Gaiden, that takes skill. I got to the second of the last 3 bosses, and it's just ridiculous. I'm sure you have to get to the end with either the firewheel or spinning ninja ability and lots of mana to have a chance. Maybe if I played it for another month I could've done it. The hardest game I ever beat was either Zanac for the NES or Gaiares for the Genesis. I still remember the feeling of elation when it was over.

I almost cried when I finally got through all of the retarded shit in the game "Back to the Future" and when I got to the last level where you have to drive the car through the lightning storm and hit the line at 88mph. Seriously. Is that even possible? And you only get 1 try and if you fail you have to start from the beginning. I think that might be the only beatable NES game Ive played but never beaten. I think the most excitied Ive ever gotten was when my friends mom finally beat the boss in the fireplace on the 3 level of the castle in Milons Secret Castle. Us 3 played that game like 6 hours a day for a week before we ever beat that thing. Pretty much any game that didnt have saves/passwords to continue your progress on NES games could be downright brutal. Cobra Triangle? lol fucking impossible. But the only time Ive ever cried while playing a video game was when I was playing RC pro am and for some reason I did something extraordinary(spelled Nintendo?) and started jumping up and down on my moms bed. Then I went off balance and fell on a nightstand and the corner punctured my leg and i had to go get stitches. Still have a huge scar, sup.

What made me cry was OOT, is it actually possible to beat that fucking marathon man in the race? I can not imagine how, it's like some kind of sick developer joke, and it worked because I still see that bitch in my sleep.

+1 Internets | You can cheese all the Weapons in FF7 by using reverse+Knights of the round on your own party. The enemy gets hit by 3 full Knights attacks in one hit, its something like 500,000+ damage from one attack which kills everything in the game except one of the Weapons (I think, been years since I played) and it goes down after 2 strikes. Games that made me curse & cry due to suck? Fucking Forgotten Realms Demon Stone. I was so waiting for that game, I thought "OH YES, DnD full action style RPG ftw. Splurt". I got it and completed 6 of the 10 (?) missions in under an hour and out of those 4 were mindlessly easy and 2 were pure luck depending on monster spawns and how fast you smashed the attack key. What really sucked most was that the actual combat engine and setting and graphics were great and could have really gone places if they only had an actual game to go with them. I spent more time driving to the store to buy it then return it than I did actually playing the game. |

It isn't possible to beat the Marathon Man, he'll always win by one second. It's just a joke.

+14 Internets | Actually, there is a way to beat Marathon Man I think...you have to do some trick/take some path and he doesnt pull the 1 second thing on you. It's been years though so I dont remember.

The ending is pretty much "A winner is you!" type deal. TMNT was definately hard as hell. Another really hard game was EDF (Earth Defense Force) on the SNES. It was a side-scrolling space shooter, but holy shit was it hard. I finally couldnt take it anymore and borrowed my cousin's game genie ;p

+63 Internets | TMNT has my vote for one of the most retardedly difficult yet beatable games ever. I must have spent 8 billion years on the dam level. I think I was 7 or 8 at the time. I finally beat it a few months ago, was much easier with state saves. 8( One game, fucking Castlevania though. I'd get to Death, have like 8 billion extra lives, then get my shit kicked in. Finally played it again a few weeks ago and waffle stomped him. I just want to go back in time and kick the shit out of a young me for sucking so bad. Legacy of the Wizard I gave up on after a few weeks. Game took me for-fucking-ever to even get the first crystal or whatever you needed to get. After that I was just like, "fuck this, can't be worth it." I never really got teary-eyed over any of the Final Fantasies though. First time I played through 3 and Cid died...that was about it. From 7 on up I was just too pissed at the main character for being such a goddamn annoying cunt or raging pussy to care. Though I did cry when I had finally saved up enough Hearts in Castlevania 2 to buy a flame whip and my mom pulled the cord because I had been playing for too long. Goddamn that woman. |
