| Yup, 1.4GB for maybe 30 minutes of playing, and that's assuming you play it three times as melee/archer, thief, and mage. By far the largest demo with the shortest amount of content I've ever seen. Ubisoft announced the delay a few days ago. Dark Messiah and Splinter Cell: Double Agent were delayed until "mid-October," and the Resident Evil 4 port was put on hold with no new date at all (after how shitty the Onimusha 3 and Devil May Cry 3 ports were, I doubt anyone cares). |

+21 Internets | Was short but they made damm good use of the source engine. I personaly don't see how kicking an orc will make him fly back like that but whatever. They need to nerf the kick to where they have to be stunned for them to be thrown back. If it stays how it is you can beat the game with just the kick button it seems. I like how you can set arrows on fire using the random fires around. Power attacks are all useful in there ownright unlike oblivion. Got your pushback, stun, etc. Fire traps are good fun. I put a line of them near the cliff edge. Got one orc to chase me...BOOOM!...another came to see what was all the noise....BOOOM! Backstabs or neck/throat stabs are money nice and silent. Multiplayer is either gonna rock or be unbalanced as hell....Right now I don't see any reason to be melee in multiplayer when a mage can just freeze your ass then explode you. Depending on how stealth works I don't see that being useful either. More then likely it gonna end up being mages and archers. We shall see. Enviroments look inspiring and endless so far I can see myself buying this game. Oh and using crates to smash orc reminds me of Zelda link to the past(SNES) bush slamming...which was one of my favorite things to do. Last edited by Hatorade : 08-09-2006 at 02:46 AM. |

| They've done a lot of balancing recently for MP, I wouldn't worry too much about mages owning all. Priestesses still need more nerfing though. Melees and archers are more or less fine. In the SP, I can't see wanting to play anything but pure melee. |

| So I downloaded this last night and had some problems getting it to run. The first thing that happened was when I changed the directory of the install (specifically, changing it from the C: drive to either one of my other two harddrives) the install size goes from 2.4 gigs to 0 and subsequently tells me that I can't install it. I clean up my C: drive enough to have the room for the game and after it installs there is no Start menu group and when I hunt down the MM.exe file and double click, it thinks for about 4 seconds and then gives me a fatal error. I'm pretty sure it's a valid download, I got it off FilePlanet using their own file manager dealy. I'm downloading it again now, just in case, but has anyone else had this problem? |

| Yea, the install flaked out on me when I switched to E drive too, but after a second click of the Next button it worked fine. And unlike most recent Source engine games, it actually ran without crashing (for the whole thirty minutes it took to fully explore the demo). I still find it funny that the download process took longer than the play + uninstall process. |

| I just found the start menu group when I realized it was inside an already-existing Ubisoft group. Still get an MM.exe fatal error on start up though, regardless of which hard drive I have it installed on. Last edited by Jabberwhacky : 08-09-2006 at 11:28 AM. |

+5 Internets | Played the demo twice last night, very cool and, as stated repeatedly, too short. A few things... How do you enter Stealth mode? I saw a blurb come up shortly about it after I bought the skill, said something about "Activate it with the Magic was fun as hell (Iced floor leading to fire trap = lolz) but will it really be viable? It seemed to take a hell of a long time to regen. Maybe the regen skills you get later increase it dramatically? I agree on kick being way too powerful... though kicking a bitch into a fire or onto spiked backboards is $$$$$$$ Definately going to pre-order this. |

| Tried the save game. Its cool but really buggy if you start up a new game since it gives you all spells and abilities. Bad part is the cyclops save game starts you off with your 6 skill points, no health potions, 2 mana potions, and 26 arrows. Havent figured out if hes beatable yet or not but still trying. He does tend to forget where you are and pathing isnt really in yet so he forgets about you pretty quick. Cant kill him with 26 arrows though and spells arent that effective on him either. Its a fun fight though, just wish you had more weapons and spells to play around with on him. |

| I thought the game was ok, as has been said the demo was way too short. The installer was definitely borked. About the cyclops fight - it's pretty cool, I watched a 414meg E3 trailer that had the whole fight in it. It spoiled how to kill him but oh well. |

+1 Internets | Anyone else experiencing a ridiculous amount of stuttering in this? My PC can play HL2 and HL2:LC flawlessly(1.8Ghz, 1GB RAM, 9800 Pro), but for some reason I have an unplayable level of stuttering if ANY light source is on my screen. I turned down the all shadows/HDR/etc. and it didn't seem to help at all. Pretty lame. Last edited by Kasonic : 08-18-2006 at 10:05 AM. |
