More like 50 hours if you actually finish the game. 10 won't get you halfway through Act I.

Anyway, I really like the game. It has some issues still, but overall it's a vast improvement over DS1 and the truly abysmal expansion pack to that. I'd put it well above the other Diablo 2 clones too, like Sacred/Sacred Underworld and Beyond Divinity (but not as good as Divine Divinity).

My only real complaint is that the game is just too easy after about 4-5 hours into Act I. At that point, only a mimic is a threat to your party, and by Act II those won't even be tough. I don't even use powers unless absolutely necessary. I think the problems stems from them miscalculating the level you would be at a certain point, which is compounded by the fact that mobs in a new area don't level up to provide a challenge. It's even worse when you finish the game higher than L40 and want to play again on veteran and everything is weak compared to you.

Can you solo your way through? Or do the characters play important roles that you need their help in?(lock picking, or storyline ala Imoen from BG)...

I always liked soloing in these kinds of games, just felt more independent and less 'hassle'.

Does your EXP get split among your group as well? That might make soloing even easier. The thing I hated about KotoR2 was how easy it was, abysmally easy... One thing I hated about diablo1/2 is that to gain the best exp, you had to fight pussy weak mobs, they gave an exp reduction on mobs more than 5 or whatever your level in d2... was no fun =(

you can play lan online via hamachi. it creates a virtual lan with people you are playing with though, so don't play with people you don't trust to have (atleast limited) access to your computer.

Do the Elite and Veterans levels give new content such as quests, items monsters or they are only harder versions?

EDIT: NM just read Vorph's thread and it answered my question. Kinda gay is you ask me.

Mediocre.

Unlocking "harder play levels" = shit.
Levelling system = shit.
All the new stuff they added = shit.
Itemization = shit.

Same as DS1, mindless. Having fuckloads of garbage drops for hours to sift through and get money for, when money is useless, is just obnoxious.

As far as archer sucking - nah, in DS1 the archers were money, especially when you got dragon guns and flamethrowers. I ran through the original game with an entirely archer crew + 1 healer. Nothing even made it into melee range with that set up, most of the time had the healer shooting.

I gave up on DS in total after I beat DS1 with all my characters loaded down with rare items and then the fucking expansion *DID NOT* let you import your doosh-bag crew. Huh?

This is why I heart the Transmute spell. Items just takes up space, money is just a number even when it becomes meaningless.

Item eating pets + teleporting home are two other options.

The problem with item eating pets is that the quickly max out and then there's no progression for them. Wasn't really that exciting playing through the last 5 or 6 hours knowing that maybe 1 or 2 items would actually be equipped.

Don't feed pets anything under yellow and purple and see what happens

And yeah it's lame that there's no pet progression past Mature. I'm starting to think this is Guild Wars-

The game is okay. It basically plays exactly like the first one. A few cosmetic changes but thats about it.

Problem with the game is that it is retard-easy. You could have 2 extra chromosomes and still dominate. You have to get to around 40 lvl before you can unlock the next difficulty, which is gay. If you take a full party you can sleep your way through it. Dumb.

Also, there are many features which aren't needed cause it's so easy. There is a whole taunting and aggro system that is a total waste of time because you can simply waste anything that gets close to you.

Some of the quests are kinda neat.

The voice acting is ABYSMAL!! Seriously, you've heard better voice acting from many a Eastern-European games company. Shockingly bad.

Music is nice.

Graphics are meh. Spell effects are generally underwhelming.

Combat gets tiresome after a while because it is so easy. Basically, take a healer and a dual-wielding fighter and its game over. There is no AI to speak of.

Mindless hack and slash. Worthy of a torrent but not your hard-earned cash.

Would you actually have faith in Diablo 3 now that half of Blizzard North including its management left to form Flagship Studios?

This is a real, non Blizzard-bashing question btw.

I love how the various speakers were obviously given no context at all to their lines.

Elf#1 screams at the top of his lungs "THE TEMPLE IS UNDER ATTACK!"

Elf#2, bored and sipping a pina colada, "Where is Eliliulululeuleululeulle? She could help."

Elf#1 has begun pouting like a 5 year old "We MUST find her, forthwith!"

Elf#3, clearly suffering a cold "Oh, I uh, think she's over there, maybe. Achoo."

This game is a perfect example of why most of them lose money.

Add in the fact that Multiplayer requires UPnP (hello, let's open up my computer to hackers, thanks Microsoft), and this game isn't really worth looking at IMHO.
