Black Isle sunk under the waves?

Well isn't that an assfuck. Just noticed on Gamespot that Black Isle has been sniped by Interplay.

Not like the past few releases they've been responsible for have been all that great, but damn. They were doing Fallout 3!!! *cry*

*waits for bait of "THAT'S NOT A METAPHOR NOOB! to be taken*

Welcome to 2001.

BTW There was never any Fallout3. They toyed around with the idea of doing a Fallout first person shooter. The idea bombed. Since then there just hasn't been any money or interest in continuing the Fallout series unless its multiplayer (Hence: Fallout FPS) much in the way the Wing Commander series went for Origin/EA.

I think the screen shots and devs coming out and saying "Fallout 3" was being made kind of debunks the "it doesn't exist!" rumor.

Strange question, but why has EVERY post I've read about Black Isle going under been posed as a question? I mean, yes they did sink, it is truly a black day for gaming (lol pun)

Heh, everyone told me "yeah, we knew that already" today. How was I the last to see that.

That is a damn fucking shame, they made so many truly great games. This is as sad as the time Origin, another once great game developing house, got bought out.

The hard truth is, I'd pick working for SOE over Blizzard. Ten years from now there's a good chance Blizzard won't exist, but SOE will be around until the bergs come home because they're backed by Sony.

It's just spin, they don't want their stock to take another nose dive. They fired all but 2 Black isle employes, so while technically, BI isn't closed and "Fallout 3" isn't cancelled, it might as well be.

All we can hope for is for someone to buy the rights to Fallout from the sinking ship that is Interplay.
