| LDoN Rewards - Things that should be done For the most part, I've been enjoying myself in LDoN. That's not to say the expansion is 100% 'teh win', but it's definitely a good concept. Anyway, from what I've experienced and have heard about raids, there's a few things that could use improvement. First of all: Raid Merchants. I think that's self explanatory. The inventory for these would be a one-time reward per raid success, predominantly augments that have use in existing gear. So for instance if you just completed a Time-equipped raid, you'd be seeing a lot of type 8 augments up for grabs, with effects such as Shield of Pain X, Regeneration VII, Flowing Thought V, hp/mana 50, dmg +4, Time Lapse (Combat), etc... The inventory stock would be dependant on the raid you finished, with a temporary flag being set on the completing character that tells the merchant what stock it should offer to the player, granted after finishing the goal of that raid. So in other words, you get lewt from the bosses (if applicable) and a possible other reward for everyone else so it's not "oh yay, I came along to get name their item, grats name and my sore ass". Second thing, alternate (non-gear) rewards for adventures and raids. I'm talking things such as AA, being able to get (potentially hefty) long term buffs and heals from NPCs, redeem them for cash (hinthint). (What happened to winning piles of plat?!) In other words, if you've got no reason to buy items with points at the time, why not be able to buy other things? And finally: if I could add a new theme to LDoN it would be The Underfoot. That is all.

| Was this to consolidate the other 8 threads on LDoN? You're not really stating anything new. You're talking about AC2 if you're talking long term buffs. And we all know how well AC2 worked out.... In short this would begin to upset other non-LDoN content because an NPC long-term buff can be saved by logging chars out. "What happened to winning piles of plat?!" Again I think you're confusing this with AC2 where you get piles of coins in your inventory for quests. As for your NPC merchant thing. Where would be the replayability if you could auto upgrade the items you currently have on you? Remember RoK spells? Did Magician spells always drop for Magicians, or Necro spells for necros? No of course not. If they did there would be no need for time sinks and commerce. SOE is the master of replayability. What you're asking for is an immediate endgame if I understand you right. With each encounter being penultimate. To sum up, LDoN does EXACTLY what SOE wants it to do. It gives Quarm-level guilds something else to do with their 6 days between spawns, and Alt chars endless things to do. In that regard it will be the biggest success EQ has had considering the age it is at, and the timing of EQ2. It will KEEP YOU PLAYING. And that my friends is what they are best at. | LDoN is fine so far im sure well find problems with it worth bitching about soon enough. But for now STFU and enjoy the good parts of LDoN because people bitching at moment are unhappy with EQ not LDoN. Come October is time for first real complaints about LDoN and possable fixxes. |

Chests, however, need looked at in terms of the drops at least, by all accounts. I'm also not hearing of any to-die-for items from raid adventures except last night when TR got a ring with FT5, +130 hp +150 mana and a buttload of other stats. For 3 hour raids (several of which have likely been completed at least on normal) I'd imagine there'd be more being leaked out by now. ![]() All I'm saying is that perhaps raid encounters, and those alone, need a small eval, not a huge oh-my-gosh-it-boggles-the-mind, but a minor look taken at them. The question then is whether it's RvR or functionality that needs the examination; apparently it's the latter.

| I know noone cares on this board, but low level boxes/chests need to be looked at. Nothing like having your entire group of 35's wipe because of the 400hp/tick acid spray that went off because the rogue doesnt have high enough trap disarm. All that for a +3 dex augment.
