Upgrading items : The best possible outcome

Been thinking about this. What do you think the best item you can make out of the new adding augments feature. Sure there are the elemental crap you can add on to, but what about the other items, old school GM event items and such.


Manastone Currently Old world only, and not even that since the re-vamp of cazic thule. Now im not sure how many there are per captia on each server, BUT i do know they could at least do something with it.

Scimitar Of the Mistwalker The old ranger Weapon that procced a wolf pet.

Guise of the Deciver With enchanters able to cast illusion's on other people...you don't know who has the mask anymore. I remember when you saw a dark elf monk or druid...you knew they were around for awhile and were badass (for the most part).

Skull Mask Of intervention: GM event item. Badass insta click pet buff helm for dark elf necro's. CLickable at level 1. With even velious armor the pants click a shotty haste putting this helm down on the "must have" for necro list.

The butcherblock hammer: One per server, effect:Supieror healing. Think Kruegen has it on veeshan.


Well what do you think? Lets keep it reasonable...what would you do to these (or other) items to make worth pulling out of the bank?

They are tokens of EQ history and should remain the way they are, just like any other item of the past, IMO.

Haha.. manastone augmented with right click 100HP heal and 6HP/tick regen (worn).. hahaha..

but seriously, epics could be brought back from hell with this :P
warrior epics in particular since they sucked HARDCORE with the release of SoL. add 2 base damage and +50HP to each of the warrior epics and you might see lightsabers again. letting them get aug'd with haste or slow couldn't hurt either (/beg)

Rathmort is misinformed the origional Guise was clickable from inventory by any Class my Paladin still has one to this day.

warrior 1h epics had 24 delay though didn't they? even with the extra 2 base damage, 16/24 isn't that impressive.

I see there are type 1-6 augments and type 8's. It would be cool if there was a type 7 augment that was for epic weapons only and buffed them up to something decent. I'm thinking something on par with low level PoP stuff at least.

maybe 16/24 isnt nice for higher guilds, but ones around vindi level and a bit higher would love it. Don't think so much for the end game, but for the gaming community as a whole. 16/24 with the aggro increase on one of them isnt too bad pre-EB.

Buffing up a fungi would be nice (hp / stats / ac - whatever)


Extra regen on a z-heart would be an excellent item for necros

+Dmg augments on a pair of duel SoD's

Dmg augment on a BoC.. 18/20 "droppable" EB weapon

Im not sure if focus augments are dropping, but improved damage 4 for just about any class that doesnt primarily nuke (read: a class that goes in for an ID4 item primarily - wiz/mage - to a lesser extent necroes) would be excellent on any item. (My point here being, most classes lose out on, or dont really pursue damage 4 items - but could benefit from them, rangers,shadow knights, enchanters come to mind)



I kind of think damage augments might get out of hand. If arrows can be augmented - bows - rogue daggers - high end 1 handers
Your going to see casters crying really soon unless something new and "empowering" for them shows its face, which somehow i doubt.
